Harvest House Publishers A Dream for Hannah - eBook

Hannah Miller's Amish faith is solid and her devotion to her family and Indiana community is unquestionable. Yet her young spirit longs for adventure and romance. As troubling circumstances give her good reason to spend the summer at her aunt's Montana horse ranch, Hannah soon discovers she has much to learn about life and love.

Sam, the boy Hannah has known all her life, is comfortable and predictable. Peter is the wild one, the boy who is on rumspringa. And Jake is unpredictable, intriguing, and living in the Montana wilderness.Hoping for a dream come true, Hannah must decide how to fulfill her heart's desire while staying true to her faith.

A lovely light read with nice twists. I like how this book is set away from the regular Amish settings and it showed a different set of challenges.

I have just finished reading the complete Hanna's Heart series by Jerry Eicher. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Hannah's adventures & the tragedies that she endured for one so young & the way that she ultimately found the happiness that she was searching for.
Jerry Eicher's religious background brought a deeply touching story line to the books that I found very refreshing & uplifting.
I look forward to reading more of his books.

Unlike most Amish books the Hannah Heart series is alot more adventurios. Not settled in a cozy Valley somewhere. Alot of unknown and yet real feelings draws you in.

3 StarsA Dream for Hannah By Jerry S. EicherHarvest House PublishersReviewed by Diane A. BrownWhen young hearts dream of love it can lead to perilous paths. Unprepared, with high expatiations, those dreams can be easily shattered.I found the writing vivid and the people and places easy to visualize. The story line, however, had some definite dry areas and seemed to drag in places. In my mind, Hannahs character needed deeper development so the reader could better understand her heart and her choices. Teenagers however, Amish or otherwise, make spur of the moment decisions that can lead to devastating consequences, a fact that is definitely brought out in the story. Truth is also found in the need for honesty and openness in communication between parents and teens that can help prevent tragic outcomes. There are valuable lesson here for the growing young heart.

Hannah is confused, torn with guilt over a mistake she made that results in a tragic accident. I think that it was a little too dramatic of a book, too many fast paced things...I found Mr. Eicher does a good job of portraying Amish as they really are though, although he did not research the area he set the books in as well as he should have.

Jerry Eicher is a master of Amish fiction, and this book is no exception. Previously published under another name, it is still a good read, especially with the knowledge that book #3 will be coming in the fall.
