Hiebert's commentary covers books which are, in his words, the "dark corner" of the New Testament. He unlocks the secrets of these practical books in this expositional commentary. And yet he thinks they have much to say especially to those of our day. The commentary is based on the American Standard Version (1901), which Hiebert prefers for its literalness. Besides being a prolific writer, Dr. D. Edmond Hiebert served as a pastor and college professor. After completing undergraduate work at John Fletcher College, he pursued his Th.M. and Th.D. at Southern Baptist Seminary and went on to teach at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, and Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary in Fresno, California. Other works by Dr. Hiebert include his three volume Introduction to the New Testament, The Epistles of John, and The Gospel of Mark by BJU Press, and numerous other commentaries.
