Thomas Nelson The Other Side of Jordan, Journals of Callie McGregor Series #2

She and her family are living during some of the most turbulent times in Montana history--and Callie McGregor is recording it all in her journals: cherished memories, times of testing, God's provision, a mother's tender moments. As the second book in this series opens, it seems the family's future is finally taking shape: they're experiencing the fruit of their labors on the ranch, new babies are on the way, and Callie is developing a friendship with an Indian chief. But with progress also comes obstacles. Her sister-in-law's past will return to hurt the whole family, and the time that every mother dreads is drawing near: the day of letting go. Life on the American frontier is hard, but Callie and her family are discovering anew each day that God is good.

What a beautiful look at life as a whole. The descriptions, the treasures found in everyday life, as well as the close-knit ties of a family are well-portrayed in Dawn Miller's "The Other Side Of Jordan". I can't count the number of times tears came to my eyes as she illustrated one simple truth after another, the main theme being that our inheritance from the Lord is love.
