N.T. Wright's accessible volume, built on his Cambridge University Hulsean Lectures of 2004, takes a fresh look at Paul in light of recent understandings of his Jewish roots, his attitude toward the Roman Empire, and his unique reframing of Jewish symbols in relation to his experience of the risen Christ. Wright then attempts a short systematic account of the main theological contours of Paul's thought and its pertinence for the church today. Narrated by Simon Vance. 6 CDs. 7.6 hours. Unabridged.

Excellent introduction to N. T. Wright's work on Paul found in his other publications! Good interaction with the work of E. P. Sanders (new perspective) and Richard B. Hays (criteria for discerning scriptural and other "echoes" in Paul). Sensible and responsible exegesis of Plauline texts with sufficient attention to the first century mileau, as well as some secondary literature, using helpful illustrations. Nevertheless, Wright forges ahead with his own fresh perspective on Paul, which should be welcomed by all students of Paul and informed followers of Christ.
