I read some of this each day leading up to Thanksgiving. It gave me much to think about, and enriched my Thanksgiving this year. I also enjoyed playing the CD recording of Thanksgiving songs. I've purchased extra copies to send to friends next year.

It is written so that you can read the entire book (small print and large) or only follow the large print pages. This makes it just a little confusing to read through.

Great book, especially to read on or before Thanksgiving. It offers two ways to read, one only reading the large print if you have young kiddos w/short attention spans, or reading all, with much more detail on the history. I had already read several Thanksgiving books and I still learned more information in this one. Plus, I got a great deal on this book at christianbook.com... was 75% off!

What a lovely book! It is not only beautiful to look at, but has a beautiful story and cd to go with it. I love how it is written so you can adjust it to your child's age, read more for older, less for younger. The CD is also a joy to listen to!

*An enjoyable Thanksgiving Tradition in our home* Together we read through the book every November. Our young children enjoy the music as well. I like how it's formatted into "lighter"/shorter reading and optional "deeper"/longer reading in order to accomadate various ages & time constraints. This year my dd placed this book on top of our fire mantel place -- very decorative as well as informing and inspirational.

I have this item already and I bought two more to give as birthday gifts. Nice Coffee Table book to set out during November and to listen to the Thanksgiving hymns of the season on the accompanying CD.

This is an excellent book for family reading since it is written in two type faces depending on the age of the children bening read to! What a wonderful idea. It really emphasizes how important it is for us to hold fast to the values of the Puritans who started America at great personal cost so we can have freedom to worship apart from a National religion.

The detail in the book is very well researched and thorough in its presentation. The layout and illustrations are well done and the CD makes it such a well rounded experience for kids and adults as we stop and reflect/remember Thanksgiving's history. What a neat heritage to pass on to our children year as we celebrate Thanksgiving by reading this book. It is also an encouragement to be intentional in our celebration with many creative ideas to have an attitude of gratitude (not just the 4th Thursday in Nov. but all year long).

This book has become a staple in our Thanksgiving traditions. We have pulled it out for several years now and no matter what age our children have been it has been so useful in teaching about the real meaning behind the holiday and the deep Christian heritage of our country. There is journaling available at the back to note things that you are thankful for, we started when our children could only have their hands traced to now they write there own out. They can't wait to see it every year to look back on what was written in past years.

Beautiful book for displaying all month. This book is packed with facts about Thanksgiving and ideas for celebrating the holiday in a meaningful way. The Thanksgiving story is designed to be read aloud with a long or short version. We found the short version to still be difficult for our preschooler to sit through. I think reading a little each night leading up to Thanksgiving Day will be easier for us with a preschooler, toddler & infant in our family.Excellent book. I can't wait to read it again this year with my family.

A beautiful book, perfect for Thanksgiving and the days leading up to it. Take time to remember the pilgrims and God's divine provision for them!An area is included in back for writing your own blessings you want to remember. The CD alone is worth the purchase. Great background music for anytime, but especially the Thanksgiving meal... if you can get the guys to turn off the game!
