Customer Reviews for Moody Publishers Hudson Taylor's Spiritual Secret

Moody Publishers Hudson Taylor's Spiritual Secret

Compelled to share the gospel with the unreached people of China, Hudson Taylor devoted his life to this purpose. He modeled a life of utter dependence on Christ for both his spiritual and material needs. That was his secret and the reason for his lasting impact on the people of China and missions. This biography by his son and daughter in law has become a Christian classic.

Hudson Taylor's Spiritual Secret has been one of the most influential books in my lifetime. Before reading that book I thought that being a Christian meant that I was to ask Jesus into my heart to be forgiven, and then, when I died I'd go to heaven. This book showed me SO MUCH! When Jesus Christ comes to live and reign in my life, He begins a process on the inside to bring me to be more like Jesus NOW. He brings a new QUALITY of life here! The Holy Spirit comes to be my Teacher and as I am immersed in the scriptures (discovering what God is showing me what to be and do with His enabling), there come adventures day by day--living illustrations of the reality of being a Christian NOW and then, getting to be with Him after this life is over. NO COMPARISON to the works-related religion of my past!

This book has had an amazing impact on my life. I bought it nearly a year ago and recently purchased it for a friend for Christmas. Within in the year of my owning the book I must have read it at least 4 times. I read alot of books that are theologically "deep" and while this book has that aspect, it also has alot of practical truths that can be applied the first time you read the book. Purchase this book and I promise you will not regret it. Follow the example of Hudson Taylor and other saints of God and learn that Christianity is more about being as opposed to doing. God bless and enjoy!
