The Power in Your Hands teacher key is what gives parents the ability and confidence to teach high school writing at home. This book has sample papers of real students writing assignments, which is invaluable for me as a parent. I like being able to "see" exactly what the author deems an A, B, C, D, or F paper. She will take you through, step by step, how to grade a paper. She also has grading formats that you can copy and use to guide you through grading your students papers. Like most home school moms, I need to make the most use of my time and this book gets right to it.
Another great addition to this book, is it gives you writing prompts to use each month of the year. These are invaluable to your students in preparing them for real life. One writing prompt has the student pretend to be in an interview. Another has them write a story without using the letter "t". I have several children to teach, and I am not creative enough to come up with all this stuff! I'm so glad this book has done it for me. If we come to an especially busy month, instead of dropping writing during the chaos, my child can pull out a writing prompt and keep on learning.
Last but not least, this book provides you with the answers to the student book. By purchasing this book you will gain invaluable material to enhance and extend your students writing experience.
