Just like in the textbook, new concepts are introduced in a spiral-method, while the Concrete> Pictorial>Abstract approach enables students to encounter math through concrete activities before progressing to pictorial and abstract representations; multiple cut-out activities provide a hands-on component.

Correlated to the pencil icons found in the textbook, each activity supplements the lesson found within the textbook, while being thematically linked to a popular rhyme of tale found in the not-included Singapore "Big Book" set. My girls (4 and 6) ask to do this book everyday of the week. We love the use of nursery rhymes in the lessons and the colorful illustrations really appeals to them both. The progression of lessons is logical and builds upon previous skills. We will be using Singapore for many years to come.
