Roger Olson and Christopher Hall's The Trinity provides beginning theology readers with a basic knowledge of God's triune nature. The authors first offer a historical overview of the doctrine of the Trinity, tracing its development from the first days of Christianity through the Middle Ages, the Reformation, and into the modern age. They then provide a comprehensive, annotated bibliography of all major books written about the Trinity for further study.

A succinct treatment of the Trinity from a historical theology perspective. The book does not deal with Biblical evidences; rather it seeks to illustrate the historical development of the doctrine of the Trinity in church history. It is an excellent source for further study of the doctrine with a helpful annotated bibliography of sources, from ancient patristic to modern (mostly heretical) works. A good introductory source to historical theology on the subject.
