Study notes: informative, insightful. I am very pleased.

Additional features: Extensive Topical Index of Scripture, Archaeology of Bible section, Synopsis of Bible Doctrine as well as maps and explanatory tables throughout.

Paper quality: Thin but adequate with minimal ghosting. Wriiten notes by me do not bleed thru paper.

Font: easy to read, double column format. Wide margins to add your notes

Binding: sewn but does not appear as sturdy as sewn bindings on Scofield and HCSB leather bibles

Cover: Very thin leather, seems more like imitation leather. Does not seem like it will withstand heavy daily use.

I bought this bible to replace my prior Ryrie bible of 30+ years which had thick leather lasting until recently.

However, this an Extremely Worthwhile Bible with study notes that complement Scripture but don't get in the way of your individual study.

    Just treat the leather gently

I have tried many study Bibles in my 40 years of being a Christian, and the Ryrie is definitely the best. Many study Bibles contain heresy (unbiblical doctrine) in the notes, or the notes are just plain unhelpful, but the Ryrie is not only biblically sound, it's study notes are always helpful and concise.

Things I especially like about the Ryrie: 1) the start of each book contains a detailed synopsis of who wrote the book, when and why, who it was written to, and what it is basically about, 2) the notes contain helpful stuff, eg. the meaning of a name, especially important cross references, little tidbits of information that are interesting and add to the reader's understanding of the passage, and explanations of difficult passages. 3) there is extensive cross referencing that is listed right beside the verse it is about, 4) the subheadings in the text not only describe what is in the passage, but add to the overall understanding of how it fits into the rest of the book, and 5) (I like this one really well.) In the gospels, the subheadings contain references to all parallel passages in the other gospels.

I would highly recommend the Ryrie to any serious Bible student. In fact, it is the only one I recommend (with the exception of the Thompson chain, which is good too and contains scads of interesting information, but it doesn't contain subheadings (which I really like), and I find the cross references difficult to follow.)

The only drawback is that the Ryrie doesn't have a large print edition, which would be helpful for my aging eyes.

This review was written for KJV Ryrie Study Bible Hardcover, Red Letter.
I always teach young Christians to avoid commentaries, til they have read a passage 4 or 5 times, and asked Our Lord to give them understanding. This Study Bible is a great next step, when they have learned to seek (and find) the illumination offered by God the Holy Spirit. Pr 3.5-6

I recently purchased this Study Bible. It's without a doubt the finest King James Study Bible I have ever come across. The Print is large enough that I can easily read without squinting. The Notes alone are amazing. The Extra Study Helps that are included are awesome too. The Topical Section is great without going overboard, as I have observed in a few other on the market. The Quality of the King James Ryries Study Bible is awesome. I have other King James Study Bibles, but this one Folks is without a doubt in my mind, just incredible. All you need with this for Studying is Strongs Concordance and Vines Dictionary and your set. From now on I'm setting store with the Ryrie King James Study Bible.

Thank you CBD for making this product available!!!!

The KJV Ryrie Study Bible is the most useful study Bible I own. The notes are very helpful and comprehensive, providing milk for young Christians and solid meat that many study bibles lack. The King James text is a very comfortable size for reading and, unlike another popular study bible, Ryrie makes no changes to the KJV Scripture text, making any necessary grammatical comments in the notes or margin. Conservative/evangelical, dispensational, and committed to sound doctrine from God's inerrant Word, Ryrie's Study Bible is the most helpful tool any Christian could own.
