Moody Publishers Oprah, Miracles, and the New Earth: A Critique

When one of the world's most powerful celebrities taught a course on miracles with author Eckhart Tolle, millions tuned in---including believers. Lutzer exposes the mix of inspiration, encouragement, and heresy found in contemporary spirituality; traces its roots to the garden of Eden; and shows Christians how to discern between God's truth and Satan's lies. 112 pages, softcover from Moody.

I enjoyed this book, but it saddens my heart as well. It makes me mad to learn the ways Satan uses trickery and light and good to fool masses of people. Oprah will go down in history as one of the most spiritual and influential people of our time. Unfortunately, she gives people what they are seeking- it's just not the truth.

I thought the book was very enlightening but sad to think Oprah is so far from the "Truth" and because of her influence she is swaying millions to read false doctrine that leads to "hell" There is only one way to heaven and that is thru the "Blood of Jesus Christ" The Bible is the only inspired word of God.

This is a great book. Dr. Lutzer does a great job exposing in details this great lie presented by Oprah and her friends. Millions of people watch Oprah every day including countless of Christians. They are exposed to the Oprah indoctrination and the sad thing is that many of them will follow their advice. I thank Dr. Lutzer for exposing this lie. This book is a great resources for every Christian who wants to defend their faith.

This book was very informative. A little hard to get the concepts. I just reread them a few times. Part of my incomprehensions was probably from my shaking my head that someone would accept that. But we live in a world that would like to believe that every thing they have and are comes from their hands and hard work. The house of cards falls down when things get really tough and they have life threatening diseases. Thanks for the leading into the whole belief system to better understand it.

The book helped save my life. I was half-way through A Course in Miracles, re-reading Tolles books and many others daily. Since reading the book, I've thrown away all other books and have started at a new Baptist Church close to my home. I've been learning more about God and my role as a Christian. AND what a relief it is to know that I am to rely on God and not myself for salvation. Thak you. It came at just the right time. The book is a 5 because it specifically indicates scripture and reawakens the mind to the truth of Christ.

Excellent book that every Christian should read, especially those who watch and listen to Oprah. We are currently using this book in one of our elective discipleship classes.

I thought this was a fantastic book, countering the teachings of Oprah's Gurus with biblical truths. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know the truth about The Secret, The New Earth and A Course in Miracles, especially those who want to try them out.
