A Bible dictionary is one of the first reference tools a fledgling student of the Bible should acquire. The Holman QuickSource Bible Dictionary contains definitions that are designed to give the user a quick understanding of a term and in many cases, go into more detail for those who want this level of description. The clear, concise definitions are enhanced by the large number of colorful maps, photos, and reconstructions of biblical objects. The size of the dictionary strikes the right balance making it both easy-to-carry and easy-to-see and use. The lay flat binding keeps the dictionary open at the page being consulted during personal study or group activities.

If you have another Bible dictionary or already know how to pronounce most of the words in the Bible, this is a perfect buy.
This dictionary has excellent content. Personally, I prefer the HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible) for both its readibility and accurate translation. I come from a Bible based, but not conservative church, which I mention so no one thinks this is a biased translation.
But, this dictionary, as good and lovely as it is for reference, has no pronunciation guide. This should be embarrassing. I know I am embarrassed when I use the WRONG pronunciation.
