Sweet little Bible study for little ones.
Date:March 24, 2013
This book was a sweet introduction to Bible studies with my children. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old, and this was perfect for my 6 year old. We go to church, we pray at meal time and at bed time, and we read Bible stories together. But we've never really tried to dig deeper into the Word. This book was given to my daughter as a gift, and without taking a closer look at it, it appeared to be a regular picture book. My daughter wasn't really interested in it, and so this book sat on our bookshelf for a couple months. I decided to pick it up and take a closer look at it after going to an Apologia retreat. This not any ordinary picture book. It is a Bible study! You read this book every day from one Sunday to another Sunday, and the story is about how God is with us all through the day, every day. There are discussion questions for each day, and I was very impressed with how my 6 year old responded to the discussion questions. The very first day, we discussed Heaven. Honestly, we had never really sat down and discussed Heaven, so this was great! There are also verses to read from the Bible for each day. This book really brought our family together for some wonderful God time. It made me realize that we have not been discipling our daughters enough. We are going to seek out other family Bible studies, thanks to this book. If your family already studies the Bible together, you might not feel a need to get this book. But if you have little ones, and you've overlooked Bible study time, this book is perfect for your family. I'd recommend this for children ages 5-7'ish. This was way over my 2 year old's head, but she liked to hear us read the story.
