Milkmaid mamma5 Stars Out Of 5Grateful for the JournalAugust 29, 2017Milkmaid mammaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I'm not a real hands-on mom. However, I do see the value of going over information in different ways, for retention. The journal is a neat way to get some cutting and pasting with the mini books, copy work with beautiful scriptures, and some great pictures for coloring. If I had one complaint, it might be that the junior book still requires some writing that my early elementary students aren't ready for; such as note taking. But, one can skip that step, and I still like having the space to jot down things if we want, so I wouldn't want it left out. Finally, it keeps everything together in one place! Could make a nice keepsake of learning.
Sometimes I think, "We could get by without the notebook this year, and save a bunch of money." But then, the science seems kind of bland without it, and I end up ordering them anyway.
A wish from Apologia would be a coloring book for my pre-readers/writers to color, of the pictures that older siblings have in their books, while I read the lesson to everyone. Those would be excellent! -
blessedmom5 Stars Out Of 5wonderful for younger kids!August 12, 2015blessedmomQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This Apologia jr journal brings our science to life!! This journal needs to be paired with the hardback Apologia curriculum book. There are detailed coloring pages, a scavenger hunt, pictures to cut & paste from the back of the journal, and much less writing than in the older version. There is much more in this book than what I can list!! I am so thankful that my kids beg to do science now! Thank you Apologia, for coming up with a journal that allows younger children to be creative, gives a way for them to easily remember what we're studying, is a thorough resource, and is engaging for all of us!! :)

Raising 3 boysAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5This is a great addition to the textJuly 19, 2013Raising 3 boysAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5This Notebooking Journal looks like it will be easy to use with the textbook. It has coloring pages, activity pages and places to record your experiments. I will say that if you are looking at the Lapbook to go with the text they both cover the same things. I purchased both and will use a little of one and the other but you don't need both.

SheilaBloomington, ILAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great book for the younger kiddos!May 1, 2012SheilaBloomington, ILAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Love this journal. Lots of easier activities for the younger kids. My girls (4 1/2 and 7) have enjoyed it so far, while their big brother uses the regular version. They go along well together with only a few changes which are all appropriate!
