An introductory section and a detailed outline precede the discussion of each book. Each chapter is examined through a areful, verse by verse study. A brief bibliography follows each book.

J. Vernon McGee does a wonderful job of giving a foundation of historical facts that will help the reader to comprehend more than just the words, but also the meaning behind them. He lets the reader in on a wonderful journey through the life of Jesus, and helps us to see the importance in the 4 gospels, the wording that is used, and even refers to original manuscripts that were translated incorrectly, or phrased improperly so as to bring about a better grip on the Holy Scriptures. I would recommend this commentary to new and older Christians alike as it has something for everyone!
