Biblical Studies Press NET Bible First Edition, Genuine Top-Grain Black Leather

The NET Bible is a completely new translation of the Bible with 60,932 translators' notes! It was completed by more than 25 scholars—experts in the original biblical languages—who worked directly from the best currently available Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts.

Turn the pages and see the breadth of the translators' notes, documenting their decisions and choices as they worked. The translators' notes make the original languages far more accessible, allowing you to look over the translators' shoulder at the very process of translation.

This level of documentation is a first for a Bible translation, making transparent the textual basis and the rationale for key renderings (including major interpretive options and alternative translations). This unparalleled level of detail helps connect people to the Bible in the original languages in a way never before possible without years of study of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. It unlocks the riches of the Bible's truth from entirely new perspectives.

After using the NET like millions of others online, I figured it was time to purchase an actual Bible. It is everything I expected it to be. It's a bit thick, almost 2 inches, but how else are you going to include almost 61K notes?
The leather is a tad stiff but that is almost nit picking. It will lay flat due to the Smythe sewn binding.
Concerning the translation itself, I use it more then any other. However, like all modern translations, I was disappointed that it left out an important part of Acts 9:5.
..."it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks." Considering this is Jesus talking I can't help but wonder why they would omit that. Still, that's the only error I have found which, again, is not exclusive to the NET.

The NET Bible is very user friendly and has a ton of information on each page. Whether you are doing devotion reading or preparing a Bible study, The NET Bible alone will turn a casual reader into a scholar.
