Judges is not usually the first Old Testament book that one goes to in order to begin a bible study, find material for a sermon, or look for a paradigm of Christian values. However, Dale Ralph Davis has written this book in a way that one could do all these things and more with the book of Judges. Just like all the other commentaries in the Focus on the Bible
commentary series, this book makes Scripture readable, reliable, and relevant.
Dale Ralph Davis is pastor of Woodland Presbyterian Church, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and was previously professor of Old Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, Mississippi. He is also the author of several other commentaries in this series, including, Joshua, 1 and 2 Samuel, and 1 and 2 Kings.
