This was an excellent read. The author wove many insightful, thought provoking comments throughout each chapter. Being the scripture passages are from Revelations, one might expect that the book would have quite an eschatological focus - that wasn't the case. There were some discussions about end times events, but the focus was on what exactly did Jesus say to the churches and how that applies to us today. We usually look to the Gospels to find out how Christ wants us to live, but there is a lot of meat here in Rev. 2-3. There were great historical notes of explanations (wish there were a bit more on some of the churches) that assisted in bringing better understanding of the passages. I'm going to seek out more books by this author.
