Recently, I have been reading the ESV online exhaustively as I now regard it as 1 of my primary versions along with the 1995 updated edition of the New American Standard Bible. So I decided to buy this Bible as a compact edition to my full-size Bible. I hope to soon purchase the ESV New Inductive Study Bible as currently using the NASB edition & also the Kindle version of the ESV Study Bible.
Firstly, I noticed the supple feeling from the TruTone binding and also the fact that it is Smyth Sewn also. Another big favourite of mine is that it is it reads in paragraph - single column - format, which makes it easier for me to delve into properly. It is the perfect size to carry around with me as my NASB International Inductive Study Bible is heavier to carry around but that is my everyday full-size Bible.

This would be to me the "perfect" Bible format. I love the one column text. It's small enough to be easily carried. The cover is attractive.
But the font (7.5 point) is too small for my eyes. I tried it out for a a few days but it often gave me a headache trying to read it. And forget about the cross references! They're even smaller! I found I could not read it in my lap. If I held it up about chest level it wasn't too bad to read, but any lower than that caused my eyes to hurt.
My understanding is that Crossway is producing another version of the Personal Bibles that will use 8 point type, to be released in June 2013. The different in font size will add about 100 pages to the book. I have a Thinline version that uses 8 point type, and that one gives my eyes no problems. I guess I will just wait for June.

I love this little Bible, I take it every where I go even to an appointments and read while I am waiting. The print is large so I dont have to use my glasses.

Nice size bible. I got it inscribed with my daughter's name and she loved it. I wish it had read letters but most ESV bibles don't.

I REALLY like this Bible except for one thing that could be improved. That is the darkness of the print. The font itself is small, but other Bibles in the "personal-size" that have the same size font have a darker printout and it's easier to read. I notice that my other ESV Bibles also have the same "lightness" to the fonts. It seems strange to me that the publishers (or whoever makes that decision) decided to do the printing that way.

The study notes were more than I expected. They are very good but they greatly increase the thickness of the Bible. I was looking for a smaller replacement for an older Bible. I will use this Bible but will probably buy a smaller one to carry to church and informal study.

This is an excellent personal size Bible by Crossway. Even though it does not have a leather cover the texture is very nice and supple. Some of Crossway's True Tone Covers are not near as nice, smooth and has a gentle gloss texture like a smooth broken-in leather. I could believe the price at roughly half of the recommended retail. Print is a little small, but for a small Bible it's adequate.

The quality of this ESV PERSONAL BIBLE is very good, but the font of the letters are too small,and the price too high for a personal bible.Over all its not too bad if you have good eye sight.

This Bible has brought Scripture back to life to me. The references are so frequent that it's impossible to read a verse the same as you have before. The size is ideal (take a dvd and imagine it an inch thicker). The leather is very soft. Overall, this is a sweet Bible and I'm really looking forward to putting this to some serious use.

I love this Bible. I was wanting a colorful and detailed outside cover instead of just black or brown, and when I saw this Bible I knew it was the one I wanted. This Bible was exactly what I was looking for:)

I bought this as a gift for my friend and Bible teacher, who is quite conservative and had been using the King James and NIV translations. He has REALLY been using this ESV and is very pleased with it. The pages of the section we have been studying (1st John) are rapidly being worn down. The only minor criticisms are that the print is a bit small and the pages a bit thin.
