The ESV Study Bible includes more than 20,000 notes, written specifically for the ESV Study Bible. These notes focus especially on understanding the meaning of the text, giving answers to frequently raised questions, and providing theological, historical, and archaeological background—all for the purpose of helping readers to understand the Bible in a deeper way.
The ESV Study Bible also provides a wealth of additional resources. Thus the introductions to each book include essential information about the author, date, and place of writing; an extensive chart of key themes; a summary of how the book fits in with the rest of the biblical storyline; a description of literary features; an outline of the book; and a large full-color map showing the setting of the book.

Holy Moly!! This Bible is amazing! So big and so full of awesome wisdom! I can't believe this bible is mine to keep! I feel like I've just discovered a treasure. The cover is such good quality..a little stiff, but that happens with new book covers anyway. I didnt realise the bible was quite so big...But I dont mind in the least. This is a Bible that is no doubt going to last a long time, and comes with a lifetime guarantee on the cover..although I dont know what their definition is of a "lifetime"

The content in the ESV study Bible is great. Online resources are very valuable to me. Probably the best I've seen. I was a little disappointed in the quality of the paper and binding. I'm not sure how well it will hold up.

I purchased the bonded leather version of this study bible to replace a genuine leather version that was destroyed due to water damage. The quality of the leather is awesome and actually works better for me since it is a little stiffer and seems like it will hold up better. You can't beat the price and I continue to be happy with the service of this website and the product availability. The ESV study bible in general is amazing and has gotten me deeper into the Word than ever before.

Was well pleased at the volume of pages, over 3,000 that is packed into Bible that is still to be carried around with you. The notes are great and the ESV is very close to the original language. The notes, which are many, are of a great help. Would recomend to anyone who is interested in a fuller Bible study.

The ESV Study Bible is one of the best study bibles that I have ever seen. The study notes in it are quite good and the articles in the back of the bible were written by some of the best reformed theologians of our day. This is a great resource for the seminary student or the devoted daily reader of the Scriptures. This study bible will be a blessing to anyone who purchases it.

I have used the NIV for the last 28 years, particularily the NIV Study Bible. It has been a wonderful tool, and still is. However, I recently became aware of the ESV Study Bible and after much research, looking at particular passages and translations to insure accuracy and interpretation, and no less that 5 trips to the bookstore I am now an avid ESV user I didn't think I would use the online format but have found that I use it more than my hardcopy. I have bought and given away 8 of them. Every person likes it for different reason. I can use the maps off the internet and put them on the screen in the worship center. It will probably be my last translation change of my life.

This is an excellent study Bible for a well documented translation, ESV. It has all of the normal attributes of a good study Bible, but I am particularly impressed with the maps that are on the pages of text. The maps in the back are good, but the ones in the text are exceptional.
