Carter and Coleman captured the importance of the head, heart, and hands mentality as applied to utilization within both speeches for information and speeches for persuasion. This idea carries over into daily communication as well. Their emphasis on Jesus' teaching was supported with Scripture. This book is a helpful tool of evaluation - especially for those with a Christian foundation.

These brothers serve us well with this book. They explain the classical rhetorical method as exemplified in the teachings of Jesus recorded in scripture. Explanations are understandable, but you can be sure, they delve fairly deep and use terminology that most people without a classical education will not have heard or read. But, that's the point of reading the book: to learn. And, communicators especially should find this book a treasure, as they can strengthen their craft with the same tools as their master, walking the path of true disciples in the gift of persuasive teaching and proclamation.
