For anyone interested in how philosophy has impacted the world in real-time, this is a good place to start. Dr. Sproul is very articulate and the language is layman friendly. An excellent resource tool for any upcoming Apologists.

for 200 pages, this is about as good an intro to an overview of philosophical thought down through the ages as one will find. accurate, cogent, and just plain good. a superb work, Sproul takes the difficult and makes it make sense. its not a complete survey of course, but for what it does survey, its very very good and will get ones philosophical gears turning and turning well.
