To join a big and thriving church is not always wrong, but it is frequently the easy option. To join a little, needy congregation is not a decision to be taken lightly. It will probably require more guts, love, resilience and spiritual exertion than one thought possible. But can the church truly be maintained if all we have are large churches? Can community be maintained? Would we not give up our community to drive large numbers of miles to go to church?

I am a pastor of a small church. Every member of a small church should read this book and then pass it on to other Christians who are looking for a church to join. I also recommend by the same author "The Big Picture for Small Churches."
