Unschooling, a by-product of the widespread homeschooling movement, is a unique approach to education-one that uses children's natural curiosity to propel them into a world of learning. This practical guide reveals the secrets of unschooling success even as it address the misconceptions and criticism unschoolers may encounter.
This book is a good introduction to unschooling, and has certainly helped allay anxieties I've had about it. It's a relaxed read. Many positive things are mentioned about this life style. One thing I was a bit disappointed about, was that I did not find it a particularly Christian book, but perhaps I just assumed that it would be! I had hoped for a bit more information with regard to Christian unschooling. I'm still searching for a book for that. Also, the subtitle "How to use the whole world as your child's classroom" led me to believe it would offer more practical ideas for using everyday things around you for education. It does give some of this but I thought it would be a main focus.
