A powerful work of poetic storytelling by pastor and best-selling author John Piper! This illustrated account celebrates the story of God's providential care for Naomi and the love between Ruth and Boaz as remembered by their son, an aged Obed, who's sharing the tale with his 8-year-old grandson, David---the future king of Israel. 96 pages, hardcover from Crossway.
Everything John Piper writes is worth reading, even if one is not reformed in his theology. This look at Ruth is both expositionally and practically sound, shedding insights on a small gem found in God's Word that more often than not gets a less than adequate look. I wish Piper would write more commentaries on individual books of Scripture. Perhaps this one is a start.
