New Leaf Publishing Group Made In Heaven: Man's Indiscriminate Stealing of God's Amazing Design

Does science steal from God when it uses principles from nature- - - but without explicitly praising God?

Made in Heaven shows how 32 different examples of nature were used to influence various innovations in science- - -including how a pinecone helped engineers create bio-inspired fabrics, how real hands helped to inspire robotic hands, and how eyes inspired better camera lenses. Highlighting how scientists cannot replicate the "real thing," and thus providing indirect proof that only God can create things from scratch, this book acknowledges the divine design that inspires our world. 78 pages, hardcover. Ages 14 & up.

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to one of the newer books published by Master Books, a division of New Leaf Publishing Group and written by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto. Made in Heaven is a book that is small but definitely filled with a lot of information in it’s 64 pages that makes it appear larger than it is. A lot of this has been items that we’ve covered in our study of flying creatures this year in our science lessons and there are plants and other animals that we will learn about and we use God’s design in them for our daily lives. One of the exciting things that I found in this book was to complement our studies of butterflies and the iridescence that some contain and what we have ‘stolen’ from the butterflies design will surprise you.
Bugs, fish, humans, and plants have something that we currently use in our lives to make them easier or to improve them – what about Velcro? air conditioning? healing power of our bodies? This and more is covered in this fascinating book that will have the reader looking at God’s Creation in ways that we never considered all backed up with science and research – so it’s not just a Bible thing. This book will be coming along side our studies in conjunction with our current science curricula because it will give us a little more in depth information, especially helpful for myself and my older children. This is a fantastic book that will be instrumental in viewing God’s Creation in ways never thought of before.
**Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of this book from Master Books in exchange for my honest opinion, no other compensation was given.

Made In Heaven by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto
Though I did not know of Jeffrey Seto, an aerospace engineer, before reading Made In Heaven, I am very familiar with Ray Comfort and his evangelical productions. This book is another great addition to his endeavors as Jeffrey Seto makes a big impact as well. How amazing to have a book that teaches students of all ages. After reading wonderfully, God inspired content that enlightens thoughts the way this book has for my students and me, the things around you will never be seen in the same way again.
Along with 32 revelations on how man was inspired by God’s designs, Made in Heaven is full of vocabulary that offers many opportunities to teach and learn. There is even a list in the back of the book of new sciences and their definitions. This book can have an incredible impact on students by taking them up Blooms Taxonomy to the critical thinking stages and into their own world of discovery. I see so many lessons coming out of this book.
Teaching aside, this incredible book is also very enjoyable and will fascinate young and old alike. From how the Eiffel Tower was inspired by broken bones to how the mosquito stimulated studies for painless needles, you will find one new advance after another. Hidden in this book are opportunity, inspiration and awe in God’s amazing design for each little inventor, scientist, and entrepreneur at heart.

Innovations in many fields come not from man's imagination but by copying designs found in God's creation. That is the premise behind Made in Heaven by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto and published by Master Books a division of New Leaf Publishing.
The writers have chosen 32 examples of intricate designs in nature and shown examples of how scientists have copied or are trying to copy them to make advances in medicine, energy, robotics, and even clothing. Some of the examples are fairly obvious like cat's eyes to make better road reflectors or have been used in other creation books like copying termite mounds to design more efficient air conditioning systems. Some of them like copying lotus leaves to make things more water repellent or copying moths eyes to make better solar cells were new to me. I found the idea of copying a mosquito's bite to try a make painless shots particularly interesting, partly because we tend to think of mosquitoes as worse than useless and partly because I know people who take daily insulin shots.
This book has beautiful pictures and easy to understand diagrams. The combination of a Apologist and an Aerospace Engineer as writers makes the book easy to understand, relevant for defending creation, scientifically accurate, and up to date. This book encourages you notice the amazing world around you and "look beyond the painting and see the Painter."
Even if it looks like one it is not just a children's book. The science is presented in an easy to understand way that doesn't make you feel like you're being talked down to. I found it as interesting and educational as my 16 year old son and my 9 year old nephew. It would make an excellent present for anyone interested in science, or any one you want to encourage to pay attention to God's design.

Made in Heaven by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto
Hardback, 64 pages. Published by Master Books, a division of New Leaf Publishing Group
''Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.'' -Revelation 4:11
(quoted on pg. 4 of this book)
How often we close our eyes to the wonders around us. Everything, from the tiniest ant to the breath-taking expanse of sky above us, the world loudly proclaims a Creator! For centuries, man kind has been copying God's brilliant creation in order to create things for themselves to use. But does mankind give the true Creator the glory? Man is so proud; he would prefer to credit himself...but it is time to turn back to the real Designer and Creator: God!
''Those who look at the unspeakably wonderful design of nature and don't see the hand of the Designer are truly sense-less. They're not using their God-given senses of sight, sound, touch, taste, smell. Nature screams of God, and for some reason, they turn a deaf ear, a blind eye, and a closed mouth.'' (page 5, introduction)
In Made In Heaven, you will discover what humans have gained from studying fish, spiders, squids, the human eye, the human immune system, mosquitoes, gecko feet, leaves, and even sunflowers and pine cones, not to mention the many more topics covered in this great book!
Sometimes difficult to understand because of the mathematical explanations, I would recommend this book for ages 12 and up.
I think it would especially be grand for fathers and sons to read together! The thirty-two chapters could be spaced out over a period of weeks.
I am sure my father, who is a mechanical engineer, will be interested in looking through the fascinating chapter, along with my 12-year old brother who loves studying nature! In fact, I plan on giving it to the latter on his birthday.
Buy this book!
After reading Made In Heaven, you will feel even more awe for our Creator!
I was pleased to receive this book free through New Leaf Publishers Book Reviewing Program, to read and review.

Made in Heaven- written by evangelist and author of many excellent books about witnessing, using the law to spread the gospel, and Creation Science Ray Comfort. This book is co-authored by aerospace engineer Jeffrey Seto, and published by Master Books, a dision of New Leaf Publishing, and offered free for an honest review.
This book is fascinating. Solid science that challenges the mind with out being too technical but lets you know that Christian Scientists like Mr. Seto, an aerospace engineer, never sacrifice scientific accuracy, or reason for Faith- there is no need at all to make that sacrifice! Faith is Reasonable! In this book, written by a Scientist and an Evangelist you have a perfect pair. A study of God's Creation in a way that always points back to the Creator. As Mr. Comfort says, looking at a painting points you to the Painter!!!
The book begins with Mr. Seto writing "Engineering is a complex and dynamic field that drives our modern culture with technological advances. They make our lives better, according to Merriam Webster, 'through the application of science and mathematics by which the properties of matter and the sources of energy in nature are made useful to people.' In short: engineers discover better, faster, and more innovative new products that improve our lives.
Engineering is imagination-and design- driven. Nowhere is this more evident than the study of the natural world applied to the science of engineering. Engineers have long examined God's Creation to understand and mimic complex and proven mechanics of design. They have plumbed the depths of the natural world, encompassing insects to plants to man in search of wisdom and insight."
I love a science book that shows science as the Christian's domain, not the stronghold of evolutionary beliefs! I love a science book that begins with this verse from Revelation "Worthy are You, or Lord and our God to receive Glory and Honor and Power, for You Created all things, and by Your will they existed and were Created." Revelation 4 verse 11.
Science must be recovered as subduing the earth and having Dominion over it. Mr. Seto continues, "The simplicity yet intricacy of how God's designs work and how He manufactures complexity in nature astounds and inspires engineers in hypotheses and designs that could not be formed otherwise. We can only marvel, admire, and maybe copy some examples our Creator has left for us to discover."
When we brought our laptop computer home last year, everyone was so excited. It was a marvel of engineering. Our computer could save years of files. Our computer found things easily. Our computer could recall all of our history. I thought to myself- All these people have a computer in their head that remembers years and years ago, is very fast, and they take it for granted! This book reminds us that as marvelous as the human engineering is- we are surrounded by engineering beyond our wildest dreams!
And that is what we do as we read this book. We marvel -at the fish scales that we are copying to make body armor, at the human eye, at lily leaves that clean themselves.
We learn that a blue butterfly is only blue because its wings are designed to let the light show us only blue. And at the heart of this book is the Gospel, the desire to let the Created world in all its richness and glory point to the Creator. The Painting points to the Painter. As the Westminster Confession confirms, Q. 2. How doth it appear that there is a God?
A. The very light of nature in man, and the works of God, declare plainly that there is a God; but His word and Spirit only do sufficiently and effectually reveal Him unto men for their salvation.
The works of God tell us He is. But only the Spirit and His Word do reveal our Salvation. As Ray Comfort says, "When skeptics ask for a 'sign' that 'proves' the existence of our Creator, the sign to look for is the sign of nature's design. When Sir Isaac Newton said that atheism was 'senseless', he chose his words carefully. Those who look at the unspeakably wonderful design of nature and don't see the hand of the Designer truly are sense-less. They're not using their God given sensess of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Nature screams of God and for some reason they turn a deaf ear, a blind eye, and a closed mouth."
As Christians we should be the most zealous for Science, the most ardent learners, and the most passionate students of " trees, bees, and even knees- with their remarkable ball and socket joints." Books from New Leaf Publishing Group and Master Books equip us to be students and learners. I feel that this book would be a favorite of boys especially. It is full of drawings of eyes, and brains, and other science things. The only thing I would not have enjoyed as a little girl was the dissected cats retina. Give this book to your budding Creation scientists!

All I could say when I opened this book is WOW, Really? This book is amazing.
First off I had to beg my oldest son in order to even look at it. He is 9 years old and thought that it is a cool book. He keeps opening up to look at it again. My 5 year old likes to sit with his brother to look at the pictures which he finds pretty neat.
I love the cover of this book, it is eye catching and helps reel you in to look at it. I love how they tie in God's creation to man made objects and how the idea for them came about.
I have two favorites in the whole book. Even though I don't like spiders, I found #3 Stronger than Kevlar - Spider- Web Strong the neatest connection. My other favorite is #8 Butterflies prevent counterfeit currency. The beauty of a butterfly can help protect us from counterfeiters.
I can't wait to see a second book come out.

God's Design

Date:November 4, 2012
I love when books prompt a fresh perspective in my life. Made in Heaven by Ray Comfort & Jeffrey Seto has certainly done so. I think as we bumble through life we miss out on so many miracles and amazing ideals. These gentleman have taken time to stop, study the world around them, and gain a powerful truth. Humans are constantly copying God's design! I'm not super scientifically minded so many small things escape but but this book brought so many things to my attention that I had never known! I'm excited to incorporate this text into our school time so that my children have this wonderful knowledge from an early age.
The tunnel systems were designed based on worms. Worms! God made those worms. The lens of a camera is constantly being improved to be more like a human eye. Eye! God designed those eyes. Fans were based on fins! Fins! That God created! What an awesome insight into the world of science. That many "technological" advances were based on things we already knew. Of course the greatest efficiency possible came from God's original, amazing plan.
One of the joys of homeschooling comes from teaching my children from the Biblical perspective. Giving them insight into the Bible and our history in ways I never knew as a child. My children learn about evolution as an alternative belief but they are so excited when we can read books like this that show up the world as God intends for us to see it. Just amazing.
I received a copy of this book for free from Master Books for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.

Authors Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto does a wonderful job in their book, "Made in HEAVEN" of helping the reader better understand God's amazing design and how man is trying to use those designs to make a better world. This book gives examples of how researches and inventors have used God's natural creation to make something man-made to better the planet. For example, the strength of a spider’s web is 253,816 PSI which is almost 100,000 times stronger than stainless steel. By trying to duplicate the structure of the spider's web, researchers are looking to create stronger products for man.
This would be a great school textbook. I found it very educational, insightful and meaningful. I really liked the detailed information provided, not only in text but charts, examples and pictures. The pictures included are very colorful, clear and eye catching which helps the reader to visually see what the text is saying. I would recommend this book for a classroom and definitely every school library. I feel this gives the reader a good view of creation by placing God as the creator rather than just some form of existence.
While this could be viewed as a scientific book, I really enjoyed how the authors ended the book with a reflection upon how a person can come to know the creator of the universe. This gives the reader the opportunity to allow God entrance into their heart and making this journey real and life changing. There is also the opportunity to download a free book of Ray Comfort's book, "The Defender's Guide For Life's Toughest Question" on how to have answers when faced with an atheist. This is a very nice gift offered the reader.

When is the last time you went shopping for clothes and pine cones came to mind? Pine cone technology is currently being analyzed and you may soon see the results of that in some of the clothing you wear. What about your money? I would be willing to bet that butterflies are not the first thing you think about when you pull that crisp $20 bill out of your wallet. Or what about the possibility of a self-healing building? A building that will fix itself upon suffering some kind of damage. This all sounds crazy, doesn't it; but these are just a few of the things scientists are currently working on by incorporating God's created things into the items we see and use on a daily basis.
Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto have come together to compile Made In Heaven; a book that compiles over 30 different creatures and plants we find in nature, and examines how each of these things have caught the attention of scientists all over the world as they look for ways to incorporate the various functionalities into our everyday lives.
Who would have thought that shark scale technology would ever be used in swimsuits to help a person swim faster, or the geometric spiral pattern of a sunflower was the source of pattern for solar powered plants around the world.
These and many more, are described in Made In Heaven, a great resource for students and teachers alike.
What a joy to be able to read this book to our son and then be reminded of God's creation as we see different technologies at work in the world around us. This book serves as a good reminder that even the things we see in the world around us today; we may very well be using tomorrow. So the next time you see that leaf fall from a tree or the way that bug clings to the side of the house; you never know, that same technology could be in the next airplane you fly in or the next television you buy for your home.

Made in Heaven by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto is published by Master Books, a division of New Leaf Publishing Group. In this book you will learn about how technology is looking to God's creations to help them solve design problems which will help make our lives better. There are 32 examples listed in the book covering everything from the human eye to sunflowers. You will learn how science has studied fish scales to improve body armor, cat eyes inspire better reflective devices, moth eyes help with the design of solar cells and many more interesting breakthroughs inspired by nature.
Made in Heaven will be interesting to those who enjoy science and God's creation. I enjoyed learning about where some of our inventions have come from and how nature is inspiring new technology and improvements in things we already use. I hadn't thought about how some of the things we use every day could already be found in nature such as velcro, counterfeit proof currency and jet propulsion.
This would make a wonderful gift for the Middle to High school student who want to learn about the technical applications of God's creation. You could also use it to supplement science in High school. I found it interesting to read as an adult who like to learn more about the wonders of God's creation. It will make you have more awe for the amazing thought and design behind out world.

The book 'Made in Heaven' surprised me. The book is published by Master Books, a division of New Leaf Publishing Group. Master Books specializes in Christian apologetics books for people of all ages. When I received my copy of the book, its format suggested that it might be a book aimed at young children…it is not. I found myself fascinated with the subject matter and I actually learned a lot about many different fields of scientific research.
'Made in Heaven' was written by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto. Ray Comfort is a well-know apologist/evangelist who has written many books, developed a successful witnessing training program (The Way of the Master), and co-hosts a Christian evangelism television show with actor Kirk Cameron. Jeffrey Seto is an aerospace engineer with an engineering degree in aerospace, an electrical engineering diploma in avionics, and he is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
The book shows how many scientific advancements and inventions were made by first studying God’s creation and learning from it. Then scientists reverse engineered, to the best of their ability, something that was modeled from nature. The book showed many different examples of God’s incredibly brilliant designs. How could anyone continue to believe that these designs came about by chance?
On a purely visual level, the photographs were simply amazing. Close-up shots of wasps, the human eyeball, Velcro, and other sites humans very rarely get to see are abundant within the pages of this book. There are some truly amazing photos.
The majority of 'Made in Heaven' reveals to us God’s amazing handiwork seen in plants, animals, insects, fish, birds, snowflakes, and more. The book gives us examples of how man attempts to use God’s ideas, in a limited capacity, to better humanity’s existence. As is to be expected, and commended, the book ends with a clear presentation of the Gospel message.
This book is interesting, informative, and evangelical in its content and I would recommend it for all ages.

Have you ever wondered where we got stuff?
I mean, we have such an amazing variety of creative resources to aid our lives. Have you ever wondered where they came from?
I have.
And now I know where some of the items I've wondered about originated, thanks to Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto's new book, Made In Heaven.
Filled with interesting descriptions of the inspiration for such things as Velcro, adaptive fabrics, jet propulsion, and robotic prosthetics, just to name a few of the more than thirty items found here, Made In Heaven is a fascinating book.
Many of the things described in these pages seem like science-fiction; in fact, they were science-fiction in the not-too-distant past. But with continual advances in technology, and close scrutiny of God's own handiwork, many such items are becoming a reality. The few dozen detailed here are just a sample of the hundreds of inventions inspired by Creation.
While I knew of several of these amazing inventions, many more of them were new to me, and a few were inspired by things I never imagined possible.
Authors Comfort and Seto did an incredible job of putting together the descriptions found here.
I loved reading Made In Heaven. My kids were captivated by the book. And I'm sure you will be as well.
I highly recommend that you add Made In Heaven, by Ray Comfort and Jeffrey Seto, to your library. You'll be glad you did!
