The science background of Dr. Henry Morris is incomparable, esp. Genesis, Job and Revelation. HE started the Creationist movement decades ago (www.icr.org). He also uses the ONLY true Word of God in English - the KJV.

Ken Ham, Kent Hovind and Jonathan Sarfati are carrying on the work Dr. Morris started.

It is critical to understand that a great Bible commentator must be knowledgable AND spiritual; Dr. Morris was both!!

He finished this 2nd edition shortly before going home to be with the Lord, I thank God for his ministry.

Henry Morris exceeds expectations with his thoughtful insight, historical, and biblical knowledge. Providing current definitions of archaic or redefined words, as well as certain phrases that was current of the time giving an updated meaning. Having introductions to each book, amazing foot notes, and scriptural links.

A great design and materials used for crafting this book (Bible). I have purchased several in the imitation and hard cover to give to brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.

A wise choice of the King James Version.

Why the King James Version, with it's hard to read, defined changed, and archaic words?

It was translated from Antioch scrolls where the disciples were first called Christians.

"And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." (Acts 11:26 KJV)

All other translations are from Alexandria scrolls in Egypt. What good came out of Egypt with the enslavement, wars, and plunders of God's chosen people?

"Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage (enslavement), and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:" (Exodus 6:6 KJV)

"And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lord," (2 Chronicles 12:2 KJV)

"And he (Pharaoh Shishak) took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made." (1 Kings 14:26 KJV)

The only version instructed by a king to translate.

"And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:" (Deuteronomy 17:18 KJV)

The only version that does not have a copyright.

Most publishers of Bible versions are very generous in allowing use of quotations, even in commercial works. But all have limits and you must observe them. For example, the New Living Translation has limited use as follows:

The text of the Holy Bible, New Living Translation, may be quoted in any form (written, visual, electronic, or audio) up to and inclusive of five hundred (500) verses without express written permission of the publisher, provided that the verses quoted do not account for more than 25 percent of the work in which they are quoted, and provided that a complete book of the Bible is not quoted.

The deity of Christ has disappeared in several places in the new translations. The KJV verses in Acts 3:13, 26 that say Jesus Christ is the "Son" of God, is changed in the New King James (for example) to say he is a mere "servant." There are a lot of New Age renderings in the New King James as well as other translations. They consistently substitute the term "the Christ" for "Christ." Liberty University's dean, Norman Geisler, says, "We should be particularly wary when someone refers to Jesus Christ as "the Christ.""

Here's a thought, if the Bible is copyrighted whose Word is it; is it God's or man's?

    Jesus the Christ bless you!!!

The Henry Morris study bible in black genuine leather is a bible for everyone who is a Christian worth having. I received mine today- (Thursday September 5th,) and this is a bible that one CANNOT put down! The notes contained in this copy of God's word are complete truth, and it gives you a clear interpretation as well as understanding of His word. Also, the fact that this bible has read-along refrences, (to help you see where in other areas of the bible that it has a similar reference,) as well as read-along translations, (to show you the literal word of it's meaning or origin,) is also a big help in it's technique of study. Being a christian for 18 years, I have had many study bibles, but none quite like this one. It also has two ribbon markers, an apologetics commentary as well as explanatory notes from Dr. Morris himself. This bible is an invaluable tool for the defense of the christian faith...in matters related to geology, earth history, astronomy, biology, and other sciences. Dr. Morris's clear insight, as well as his doctrinal integrity combine to make this one of the most helpful study bibles available on the market today.

Like I said earlier, worth every christian owning!

Thank you CBD, for this awesome study bible masterpiece!!!

I already own the Henry Morris Defender's Bible, and since this is an updated version, I pretty much thought I knew what I was receiving, but nothing could prepare me for how beautifully presented this Bible is.

It's not so much the fine quality leather, the column design, font size, or the quality of the inside paper, although I appreciate all those things. It's because this Bible is formatted for the serious Bible student, and is built to last for decades.

I have a tendency to be hard on my Bibles because I use them frequently and take them everywhere with me. This Bible is constructed of sturdy, thick inside paper which stands a better chance of enduring frequent use. It has the usual fine, thought-provoking, intelligent commentary the late Mr. Morris is known for (the commentaries in Genesis and the Book of Revelation alone are cause for choosing this Bible). I especially appreciated the double ribbons because I like to study both Old and New Testaments at the same time.

I am glad that Mr. Morris chose to use the King James version of the Bible. It's my favourite version to use, and has been since childhood. There is an explanation for why he chose the Authorized Version, and it's a sound one.

Of course, Mr. Morris expounds frequently on Creation throughout his notes, a basic Biblical truth that is much needed in these days.

I'd like to add that it's refreshing and heartening to see that the late Mr. Morris' sons conduct the ministry he started with very few changes. The small ones they have made have only served to make the ministry better (for example, re-designing the look of their free science resource magazine, Acts & Facts). They have done the same with this Bible - kept it true to the content of the original Defender's Bible with any additions slight, and only enhancing the original product.

I highly recommend this Bible to anyone serious about studying the Word of God. I love the Bible in any form that it comes in, and I own many copies of it, but I must say that I particularly look forward to opening this one up. It really is beautiful.

This is an outstanding bible. First, in terms of content, Morris' notes on the Bible are outstanding and doctrinally solid. Second, it is well-constructed, with no stiffness in the leather cover. The pages are sturdy, which makes the text easy to read and no cross-page bleedthrough. The only downside is that the heavier pages make for a substantially heavier bible. That said, this is a great work and I highly recommend it.
