I don't write reviews often but I decided to write one here because many of the negative reviews nearly prevented me from purchasing lifepacs.

Ultimately it came down to price, so I went with lifepacs and crossed my fingers that it wasn't as horrible as people were saying.

I'm going into the third year of homeschooling and this was our first to use lifepacs. I found the curriculum to be very easy for the teacher to use. Every teachers book tells you what you need, gives extra reinforcement lessons, and all the documents you need to keep record and make your organization simple. Grading is simple, the format is simple and it was a breath of fresh air from what I went through the first year of homeschooling and the mess I had to sort through with the curriculum we used.

Here's the thing; kids have different needs, they learn differently. Parents have different needs. I hate to see people reviewing this curriculum based on the fact that it simply didn't fit "their needs".

Honestly, for my son, lifepacs is a bit of a struggle. It's largely self taught, but he has an extreme problem with focus and he absolutely hates writing. I have to baby him through practically every math and language arts lesson. For him, I'm thinking of switching to an interactive online program to help him keep his focus.

However, my child going into first grade LOVES writing. She actually begs for people to buy her workbooks. She's an eager sponge and lifepacs are going to work really well for her. She can be sat down with instructions on how many pages to do and a review of the material and finish without issue.

So, lifepacs works really well for her. Not so much for my son.

It's not a matter of whether it's a GOOD curriculum. It's about knowing how your children learn and whether it will WORK for them.

In summary, if your child loves writing and is good at independent work, lifepacs will be great. If they lack focus and need more interactive learning, it may not be a right fit.

I hope this helps as I know finding curricula can be stressful with so many opinions flying around.

I'm so thankful that this curriculum is user-friendly and my son loves his lessons. He is very intelligent, but can get distracted easily. The lessons aren't too long, but flow well when used together. He was using a spiral learning method prior to this and was frustrated. The focus that this curriculum provides for mastery learning is aiding his confidence and helping him overcome some learning "blocks" we encountered in the past. I'm a happy Mom!!! :)

I am overjoyed with the Alpha-Omega Lifepac Program...the subject integration...subjects amazingly complete...easy to teach...attractive and easy for children to understand...children can advance at their own pace and are not restricted from moving up when ready...I really feel this wonderful program was God inspired! The service provided by Christianbook.com was awesome as well!

I enjoy AOP. My children all use some form of the program. I am very happy with the layout and the incorporation of Christ in each subject.
