Florida Department of Law Enforcement Agent Robbie Sanchez devotes her life to crime prevention, and it shows: She has no personal life and doesn't know the meaning of a day off. After all, someone has to be around to clean up the mess crime leaves behind. So when Officer Brad Worthington is brutally murdered, Agent Sanchez is called to the scene along with Brad's best friend, Detective Eric Casey. The two turn to Lifetex, the genetics lab near the scene, hoping their elaborate security system might have captured the crime outside. But what is going on inside the lab is far worse: a renegade scientist is cloning humans! As Robbie and Eric pursue clues---and a growing attraction---they are caught in a deadly battle as the clones begin to act on their own volition. But this battle threatens to claim more than human life; the clones are vying for human souls.

Customer Reviews for The Void, Truth Chasers Series #3
This is a challenging book on the downside of genetic research, how it can go terribly wrong. Eric & Robbie are drawn to each other in the investigation. He demonstrates how to be a good witness even in times of turmoil.

Review 2 for The Void, Truth Chasers Series #3

I love this series. Mark Mynheir is an amazing author. He writes his novels in a way that excites and energizes the reader and shows Christianity. He peels back the usual cover of chasing the bad guys to adding the supernatural and personalizing the characters. I hope that there are many more books by him!
Palm Bay, Florida police officer Brad Worthington is murdered while following up a tip from an informer. The towns police chief Patrick Gailey fears his officers will seek vengeance just like he wants to do so especially after seeing the rookies widows and small children. Instead being the consummate professional he calls in a favor with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate the killing of a cop.Agent Robbie Sanchez is assigned the inquiry, which leads her to nearby Lifetex biochemistry research lab. When the firms CEO and chief scientist vanish, Robbie follows their trail. Soon she learns of Project Adam, a genetic experiment to enhance the DNA by cloning humans into potentially evil supermen. The third Thrill Chasers tale is an action packed tale that grips audience from the moment the Lifetex financial backers make it clear they want instant bottom line results and never slows down until the final twist. Whereas the first two dramas (see FROM THE BELLY OF THE DRAGON and ROLLING THUNDER) were inspirational pure police procedural tales; THE VOID contains powerful science fiction elements tied to the investigation. The key to the best Thrill Chaser to date is the testing of the beliefs of characters like Robbie who soon realizes that mans creation seems greater than Gods creation.Harriet Klausner
