Customer Reviews for Melissa & Doug Shape Sorting Wood Cube

Melissa & Doug Shape Sorting Wood Cube

The ultimate shape sorter! Circles, squares, triangles, hearts, octagons, and stars make a satisfying 'clink' as they drop into the hardwood cube. Then open the lid, take them out, and start all over again! Twelve brightly colored shapes help your toddlers develop essential hand-eye and matching skills. As their dexterity improves, your little ones will learn to recognize shapes as they sort each cheerfully colored block into the storage cube. The glossy hardwood construction keeps the learning alive for years--and kids--to come! Measures 6.5" x 6" x 6.75", and is recommended for ages 2 and up.

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas and he will be learning the basic shapes and "not so basic" shapes while he is having fun playing with it. This toy is made looking through a child's eyes and is top quality in materials and workmanship and is very durable.

I love this toy. I haven't had any problem with chipping paint in the 3 years I've had it, though, they do "color" a little on the wooden box when the kids get enthusiastic. The only issue I had is that it is a complex box. It's not just a square, circle, heart and triangle. It has a hexagon and an octagon and a diamond and a rhombus. I think my daughter (at 4) is finally really getting it, and my little guy (almost 2) likes to play with it, but can't sort the shapes, and tends to get frustrated when he tries. It's a great toy, but better for preschoolers than babies.
