GT Media Believe in Me - Edited Version, DVD

Small-town basketball coach Clay Driscoll (Jeffrey Donovan) is playing defense, because everything seems to be fighting against him. He's saddled with a team he doesn't want, in a town that won't support girls' sports, and where local politics undermines any chance of a winning season. An inspiring tale of perseverance, character, and redemption---based on a true story! Rated PG. Approx. 108 minutes.

Believe in Me was a great story, full of humor and life's challenges. My family loved it, but we couldn't bring it to show at our Christian camp because of a few bad words and the out-of-wedlock teen pregnancy (which was rectified by the couple getting married). Lots of poignant moments and Jeffrey Donovan now has his own tv series. Very good acting.

A really good story that shows how far things have come in just a few short decades. It takes us back to an era when "things were different".
It's always good to see a story where perseverence paid off when trying to do the right thing.
It also shows that good things do come from what we might think of as bad things or from something we didn't want or expect.

My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed this film, based on a story we had never known a thing about in the past. It prompted me to do a bit of research about the real-life coach.
It was also good to see the male lead portray---and so well!---a more "everyday" person than his current television lead role!
And though we can't accurately compare, we are confident that we are glad to have watched the edited version!

I do motor coach tours and show movies on the long hauls.
They loved the movie and many wanted to know where they could buy it.
I especially like that I do not have to preview for bad language and sex scenes.
Thanks!

Excellent movie. The only thing that would have improved it would have been if the coach were a professing Christian.

It is a classic movie where you are cheering for the underdog. It was nice to see it place in the 1960's so you could see how far women's sports have come. Very nice movie, even a tear jerker at times.

My family was attracted to the movie because it starred Jeffrey Donovan, and we weren't disappointed. I enjoyed the story line, cheered along with the characters. I was pleased that the problems of this team were not all solved in the first year. The movie has a good message, but there is no hint of Christianity in it, if that is what you are looking for.

This is a very touching film based on true events in a small, rural town where people are not accustomed to change or outsiders. The acting is tremendous and the script, beautifully written. You will easily find yourself cheering for the underdogs, rooting for team plays, tearing up during moments of trial and laughing at the subtle humor of everyday life and successes. And who can beat five dollars?!

We're glad we didn't buy this movie because we were so shocked by the very bad language. It was one we had borrowed. We wouldn't classify it as a family friendly Christian movie at all.

It is an excellent movie. It relates so well to coaches and kids in small towns. I would recommend it highly for every rural school district. It is good for every one to see for its moral content and lessons for life.

I truly enjoyed the movie, "Believe In Me". I couldn't though give it a 5 star rating because of a couple instances of language. I feel what Clay Driscoll did for these girls was so giving. He truly did not give up on them. His wife was always there for him too and it showed. The local politics, especially one person in praticular was bothersome. It's hard to imagine one person running everything. Clay showed them, even when he knew that he could be fired. He still went with what he believed in. The girls deserved it and he helped them achieve there goals. I know that it's hard in today's society to make movies without language but, I just wanted to let you know that, I am happy that you are trying.

This was a good movie. It took a little while for it to get interesting so if you are looking for a movie to grab your attention from the very beginning this wouldn't be it. But by the end it was very interesting. It was very interesting to see how different times were back then.
