Eunice5 Stars Out Of 5August 20, 2007EuniceThis book was excellent. It gripped me right from the beginning. It gives an inside view of depression and also of the foster care system--very eye-opening. This was my first Karen Kingsbury book. I was so hooked that I've read 16 more in 8 months!

booklover5 Stars Out Of 5July 18, 2009bookloverThis book was the best Karen Kingsbury book I have read so far. It was very engaging and I stayed up all night to finish it. I could not put it down. The range of emotions that it produced was incredible. It was a tear jerker and an eye opener. Thanks for such great Christian fiction reading material!

Sandra M Green5 Stars Out Of 5August 20, 2010Sandra M GreenI could feel what Maggie was feeling. It was amazing. My heart was broken by the little girl in the cruel foster home. Karen really knows how to make you feel like you are witnessing everything at the moment it happens.

Her writing and style is splendid, and she kept me turning pages right up to the end (even though I knew how the story was going to turn out). There is only one thing that bothers me. Maggie, is a Conservative Christian, and I can see where she and her husband need to be to create tension and conflict. I have started to read and couldn't finish other author's (one being Robin Jones Gunn, the other the authors of the "Left Behind" series) Contemporary Christian books, because early and often they ram the fact that the heros/heroines are Conservative Christians down your throat. This irks me, a Moderate Christian. I will give another of her books a try, though.
