Using the standard Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS) text, the Hebrew-English Old Testament displays, on facing pages, the ESV Old Testament alongside the original Hebrew. On each spread, one page shows the English rendering of a passage while the other shows the Hebrew, enabling readers to work through either language undistracted and uninterrupted.
A durable hardcover and Smyth-sewn binding ensure this volume will last for many years. Anyone learning or proficient in Hebrew will find this a resource for everyday reading and study, as well as a comparison tool to see how the ESV translates Old Testament passages.

Customer Reviews for The BHS/ESV Hebrew-English Old Testament
Review 1 for The BHS/ESV Hebrew-English Old Testament
Date:December 14, 2013
I have been using this Bible for about six months now, and I can testify that this exceeds my expectations. The quality is amazing, the pages durable, it's beautiful to look at and the tools are very helpful.
The facing pages is an enormous help when comparing the languages.
I would recommend this Bible to anybody studying Hebrew in an instant.
The only problem, and it is minimal, is that the pages turn left to right (Hebrew Style) so when you are reading the English, you have to remember to turn the page backwards.

Review 2 for The BHS/ESV Hebrew-English Old Testament
High quality; good combination of features
Date:September 25, 2012
This BHS/ESV is exactly what I've been wanting for a while, since it contains the textual apparatus. It's an excellent tool for research, especially for those (like me) who read English much better than Hebrew. I think it's a better option in that case than a Reader's Hebrew Bible. It's also a great companion to the NA27/RSV parallel (soon to be NA28/NRSV/REB). Crossway also has an NA28/ESV on the way. I also like the fact that the English translation is the ESV, which is, I believe, one of the better English translations that we have today.
The quality of this book is extremely high, especially the cover and binding. Even though the pages are thin due to its size, that's not objectionable. The only complaint I have is about the page numbering. All the pages, Hebrew and English, are numbered sequentially instead of separately like the NA27/RSV. This makes it necessary to consult a separate BHS to determine page numbers for citations in footnotes, etc.
