I was amazed at how much additional information was included in my Bible. History, maps and such great commentaries, and references to other passages. It really makes the Bible come alive.

This Bible is very nice. I was surprised at the color diffenence that showed online. It is almost black instead of the olive green as shown online. It worked out though. I gave it as a gift and the color and the entire quality of the Bible was loved from the recipient. Thank you!

Purchased this Bible as a gift for my step-father & he absolutely loves it. It is leather bound (not bonded leather, which is far inferior) and great quality, and the price was very reasonable for a leather Bible. And of course this is a great study Bible with solid notes from a theologically sound (reformed) perspective. Thank you!

there is a description of this item in the catalog as bonded leather. what you will be purchasing is actually 'trutone' (a type of vinyl leatherette).

Love this bible! I love all the explanations for all of the text. The binding is very durable, as well as the front. and back, cover. I could not imagine anything better than this bible. It is exactly what I was looking for!

Makes the Gospel easier to grasp, notes are very helpful. Fine Quality paper and cover, I gave the first one to my son to help him understand the Word and use as a tool in witnessing, I am planning on ordering another for myself

I wasn't sure about the TruTone in regards to durability but it feels good in my hands and feels like it is going to hold up as well as my Genuine leather Bible. I also have the Reformation Study Bible and feel these are the two best because their notes are more in depth than several of the other study Bibles. I like the fact that the commentators are not afraid to give their view on things, as opposed to just several possible interpretations. My only complaint is that the "page marker" strap came unfurled a few days after I got it...had to burn the ends to keep it from completely falling apart.

The cover leather is very soft. Portfolio styling is attractive. The font size is perfect for reading. I already own a MacArthur Study Bible in a different translation but wanted the ESV for church. I am very pleased with this Bible.

I already liked John MacArthur and have his NASV bible. But I've been going to a church that uses the ESV and was surprised that MacArthur recently did his study Bible in that version. So far so good! Tons of notes, maps, concordance - typical MacArthur stuff. Very happy with this Bible and have already told people about it.
Only thing I missed, really, was the thumb index - but I knew it didn't have it when I bought it.

I love this Bible! If you truly want to study and understand the bible, as all of us should, this is the one you want. At the same time, the ESV makes it an easy book to kick back and read, the words are modern but the way it flows and the continuity is the same as the KJV. With nearly 25,000 explanatory notes written for the 31,173 verses in the Bible, not much is missed. All the maps, charts, timelines, and illustrations really fill in the details especially in the Old Testament. this is a high quality Bible, with Smyth - sewn binding it will last a long time and many page turnings! Dr. Macarthur has spent over 35 years completing his comentary series on the New Testament, and through his love, labor and knowledge, this has been passed on through this Bible.
