I am going through this study with a friend and it has been really good so far. I look forward to it every week and I am excited to see how God will use it in conjunction with His Word to open our hearts to the truth and bring us into closer fellowship with Him. As with MacArthur's other studies, I would definitely recommend this to others.

As a creation scientist I would rate this study guide as the best I am aware of for a general biblically based study of Genesis 1-11.

Good depth of study because it is broken up into 3 sections- First deals with history, then the characters, then the themes & finally a summary of key principles. Content is easily understood by all in our group of 23 from different denominations. The author takes a literal view of the biblical history in Genesis, especially of Creation. Two in our group don't share this view which has made for some very interesting discussions. We have done further research with other materials (DVD's) to back up these literal views and enrich the study. Be warned, the beginning chapters of Genesis can be controversial. John MacArthur is clear on his stand- I think he has researched the biblical account thoroughly. This study is well written & organized and has caused us all to look deeply into what we truly believe about the Bible and creation itself. It has been many years since we went to public schools where the theory of evolution was taught, and this study awakened a need to revisit that view, question it, & do further research. This has turned up many new recent scientific findings that substantiate the biblical view of a 6 day creation, proved the theory of evolution to be impossible, and has served to deepen our faith in God's Word as absolute truth.

John MacArthur brings out points in scripture that you've never realized before. The study is understandable, but stretches you to dig further into God's Word for answers. Our Bible Study class is doing this on Sunday mornings and loving it. It provokes a lot of discussion.
