I've used Apologia for 3 years now, and they've never failed to meet my expectations. Material is easygoing, relaxed, and easy to read. You have what mot textbooks lack: a true conversation with the reader!! You feel as though the author is talking directly to you, and I love being able to relate to what he is saying. Very very pleased, once again. Would recommend any Apologia books!!

I've taught this course in groups of 12-23 students for the past 10 years. It is written for 9-12 grade levels, but I've had most of my 8th graders do very well. It requires hard work because it's challenging, but all of my students felt they'd gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and were excited about the volume of material they'd learned by the end of the year. I've also had two students CLEP out of college freshman biology. I love teaching it from a special creation perspective and giving my students some tools with which to defend their faith in an evolution-saturated society. This course is awesome!

You will not find a better, more user-friendly science curriculum anywhere. My daughter and I soared through this material. It is written so that not only will the student understand it, but so will the parent who's been out of the school system for 20 some odd years! After studying this book with my child, I found that science was actually interesting! I also like the fact that you don't need to purchase any additional workbooks for the next child to use,all content questions are thoroughly answered and lab materials are easily found in the home. I highly recommend any of the Apologia textbooks!

I studied biology for 2 years in high school and another year in college, and I still found myself learning things from this book as I reviewed with my daughters for tests. This is an in depth treatment of biology that rivals a college course, but is written in an engaging style of interest to high schoolers. If you have any doubt about the quality of the course, let me say that using only this book to prepare, my daughter scored a 62 on the college CLEP exam in biology earning her 8 credits-and she was only a high school freshman! I highly recommend this book as well as all of the Apologia high school science books.
