Is there a way to give negative stars? There is NO WAY a novel of this quality deserves a five-star review. The lead character of the book is one of the most sexist and bigoted characters you will find in fiction. He bases his opinions about every female he encounters on whether he finds her physically attractive or not. If he finds a beauty, he wishes more women looked like her. He and his wife also suggest that anyone who believes in the Tribulation can't have "an IQ over 65." Arrogant doesn't begin to cover it. This book is NOT a Christian novel and the novelist does NOT speak for all Lutherans.

I wished there were more stars to rate this book. Again It took me a week to get this book started, however, I found the book hard to put down. I don't read very fast, however, when a book is good I will read and read and read. This storyline gives you a lot to think about and at least one scenario of how the very elect of God can be deceived if they can. As in "A Skeleton in God's Closet" I hope that Mr Maier will find it within himself to write another story in the life of Jonathan Weber and his co-horts. People of this time need to wake up to what is going on and be ready for Christ to come back.

This was an excellent book, keeps you wondering time and time again, even doubting everything you have read in the Bible and come to believe in. I COULD NOT put this book down. I loaned this to several people and they too were in total awe. A masterpiece, greatly written, BRAVO!
