My favorite Davis Bunn book...it starts out alittle slow but boy does it make up for it!
It turns out to be a page-turner. Don't want to give anything away, just sit and enjoy a great read!

My husband already liked Davis Bunn, but this was the first book of his that I read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a captivating story, and I appreciate the fact that Bunn writes with enough detail to truly capture what's going on, but also with feeling and warmth.

I had read "The Book of Hours" several years ago during my own grief process and found it very helpful, especially the aspects of prayer and need for God in my life. I just reread it in preparation for our church women's group book review and still consider it one of my favorites. We liked the quirky British characters, the descriptions of the idyllic Cotswold countryside, the lessons on relics and history, and the honest spiritual journeys of the main characters. Heather's struggles with not letting go of grief reminded us of Mac in "The Shack," and the characters' spiritual struggles reminded us of Much-Afraid in "Hinds Feet on High Places."The intrigue, mystery, and discoveries were thrilling, and we still haven't figured out how Heather got to some of those hiding places!The author must have experienced his own "dark night of the soul" in order to capture the essence of grief and despair described and explained so well.We all loved the book and some who haven't read Davis Bunn's other books are anxious to start.

Thoroughly enjoyable story - the mystery kept me guessing to the end. I have enjoyed all the books from this author. The story really makes one think about the priorities in life.

A friend lent the book to me, and I loved it so much, I've decided to buy a hardcover copy for my personal library. An intriguing, suspense-filled novel that made it virtually impossible to put down. One of Bunn's best!

This was an excellent book! I began reading it in the evening and could not put it down until the last sentence was finished. This is one I would highly recommend as it has a strong Christian emphasis.
