Passion is the power, the energy, the life in the delivery of a sermon. Alex Montoya writes, "Without passion, the sermon becomes a lecture, an address, or a moral speech." A "dull preacher" is a contradiction in terms. Pastor and seminary professor Alex Montoya takes you on a journey through eight characteristics of passionate preaching, showing how preaching should contain: spiritual power, conviction, compassion, authority, urgency, brokenness, your whole being, and imagination.

This short book is an excellent resource for the novice or seasoned gospel expositor and an invaluable reminder of the significance of delivering a clear and compelling word to edify to body, convict the sinner, and give glory to God in all things. This book is a must read for preachers. Mr. Montoya sets before us the challenge to know our text well and let what we learn in the study that convicted our hearts show in our preaching.
