Colleen Coble in her new book “Abomination” Book Four in the Rock Harbor series published by Thomas Nelson gives us another adventure with Bree Matthews and Samson, her search-and-rescue dog.
From the back cover: A beautiful woman stands by the side of the road, barefoot and bleeding, a child in her arms. Someone just tried to kill her, but she wouldn’t recognize him if she saw his face. She doesn’t even remember her own name.
A suburban cop surveys a kitchen in disarray–a woman and child missing, a chilling note. This crime scene is unlike any he has ever seen.
The man who calls himself Gideon waits and plans. He sees himself as a destroyer of evil, one who rids the world of abominations. He has already killed five. He will kill again.
And somewhere in the wilderness, in a secret geocache near where the wild swans gather, lies the unspeakable clue that links them all together.
Michigan’s rugged and beautiful Upper Peninsula is the setting for this absorbing tale of love and loss, beauty and terror, grievous sins and second chances. A deftly woven thriller from the popular author of the Rock Harbor novels.
A roller-coaster ride thriller that has danger, suspense, mystery “Abomination” has it all. Colleen Coble knows exactly how to bring all of that to the story and more. There is a woman who has amnesia and her two-year old daughter. There is a serial killer who has an agenda to his killings and Captain Nikos Andreakos is determined to stop him. The woman was supposed to be one of his victims but, somehow, she escaped though she remembers nothing. However the killer remembers and he isn’t finished yet. There is even the subject of geo-caching which I had never heard of before but is really very interesting once Ms. Coble explains it. ”Abomination” has surprising twists and turns throughout the book. This is a fast-paced read that will keep you flipping pages to keep up with the story. Ms. Coble has done an outstanding job.

I really enjoy all of Colleen Coble's books because they have good story lines and you can't quickly figure out "who done it". This one had small font and was harder to read but worth the effort. I always buy her books and recommend them to anyone who enjoys a good read, good messages and an unpredictable ending.

Abomination is packed with intrigue, suspense, and tenderness. I have read a good many of Colleen Coble's books and am never disappointed. While the story centers around the main character's amazing search and rescue dog, there is every bit as much to capture the heart of the reader when her characters come alive on the pages.

This is a book that starts out running as I say, very intense and something exciting seems to happen with each turning of the page. I have read about all of Coleen Coble's books and this one is right up there as one of her best. I've been reading Christian books for year's, I love the intrigue, romance and that these characters are usually Christians and that this book shows these people as a great witness for the Lord. I give this book a 5 star rating.

Great book and very suspenseful. My husband and I both read the book. You will not want to put it down. You also meet up with Bree and the Search and Rescue dog, Samson, in the Rock Harbor Series. This book is an example of our society today and the cults that are prevelant in our society today. Thank you, Colleen Coble. You are one of our favorite authors.Barbara
