Denise G.Mariposa, CAAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Loved, loved, loved this book!May 4, 2011Denise G.Mariposa, CAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5I haven't laughed this much reading a book in years! Typically I enjoy getting to the end of a book. This book was completely different: the PROCESS was what I enjoyed. Every time I picked it up I was having my own private party. If the house nextdoor to me came for sale, I'd want this author to buy it. She HAS to be hilarious on a daily basis. I even thought her personal description was funny. Was the story good? Yes, it was. I'm snickering right now, just thinking of the dialogue. The interaction between the main characters was just AWESOME. How many great one-liners can there BE in one book?? The only bad thing about it was the last page. Because then it was over. And when will I EVER find another book this funny? I'm not even going to talk about the plot; you can read about that on the CDB website. But you just won't know how funny it is until you pick it up. Best book I've read in a long time. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Save The Date by Jenny B. Jones
Save the Date is the latest book I received from Thomas Nelson Publishers. The plot revolves around Alex, a former NFL player who is running for Congress in South Carolina. He has wealth, charm, and popularity, but the voters are looking for a more stable, caring, family type guy. He is searching for who he is, and what is his real purpose in life now that neither football nor money has made him happy. Lucy grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and is now running a non-profit organization for girls. Her funding has been cut and she needs a way to keep her girls' home open. She desperately accepts Alex's plan to pose as his girlfriend to help him get votes while she gets money to save her project. I LOVED this book!!!! The characters were so real, and their romantic banter was hilarious. I had laughter and tears as I read this book. There is a message of God's grace and forgiveness cleverly woven in. Lucy struggles with feelings of not being good enough because of not being part of the wealthy crowd and having klutzy moments while at social functions. Alex feels like he hasn't done anything important enough for God in his life and has turned away from his family when they needed him. I loved the adventure that they went through in this book and how they found their way back to God. Although, I had never read any books by Jenny B. Jones, I will surely be looking for more of them!!!! -
Crystal5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Laugh Out Loud ReadFebruary 19, 2017CrystalQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"Save the Date" was fast paced and very well written. It read like I was watching a movie in my head. Which, I totally would buy the movie if they ever made one! The sass of Lucy made me laugh so hard at times, I cried as the emotions were conveyed between the characters and I found myself rooting for each of them to find their happy endings. I literally couldn't put this book down! I can't wait to re-read it over and over again. I'm buying every other book by Jenny B. Jones that I can find now! Love her writing style!
For any Christian ladies looking for clean romance novels this is a good one. I am pretty picky about the romance novels I will read as I don't want them to be Nora Roberts material. This fit the bill! I'm so glad there are authors out there that will write romance novels without the unnecessary excessive sensationalism. -
MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Loved this modern "Mail order Bride" storyJanuary 29, 2015MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love reading historical mail-order bride stories - watching as deep, abiding love grows between two strangers thrown together by circumstances. "Save the Date" is just like one of these, set in modern times. I read it n two days, and just couldn't put it down. There are so many wonderful layers to the story which is so much more than just a romance. The importance of family, forgiveness and faith; the importance of fighting Satan's lies and learning God's truth about you and living God's truth rather than Satan's lies; the importance of finding your worth in Christ and valuing others as worthy. All this and romance, humor, interesting characters and seeing how it all ended up three years later make this a new favorite for this reader. Hope you enjoy it too.

The spiritual messages within this book really touched my heart and inspired some wonderful conversations with God. I love how freely the author cultivated and shared the characters' relationship with God. It was so natural. I've just found a wonderful new Christian author to support.
