I absolutely love the Paradise Series! This was an awesome book that I couldn't put down! Ted Dekker is an awesome author that knows how to keep his readers on the edge of their seats :)

I loved this book!!! When I first started reading it, I didn't know what to expect so I was a bit surprised with the plot...it was gory at times, and the way that the worm slime affected people was disturbing. Nevertheless, the allegory, based on Jesus's pain when he endured the cross for us, was fantastic and you don't even see it coming until it's already there! So overall, a great read that keeps you on the edge of your seat...you don't wanna miss out on this book. Another amazing good vs. evil story!!!!

Typical fabulous Dekker! Showdown gives a wonderful picture of Christ's sacrifice and the reality of our free will! It is gory in places but in spite of the "worm gel" (which created such a vivid, disgusting picture) you want to keep reading! I absolutely loved the allegory....it was so bizarre and yet so easily understood. A late night page turner!

WOW! Say it backwards. WOW! I couldn't believe how great this book is. Showdown gives a FANTASTIC allegory of Christ and His great sacrifice and victory. You never know what in Heaven and Earth is going to happen next and nothing makes sense until the very end. Absolutely incredible! Bravo, Ted Dekker!

I am a huge Dekker fan, but not a big fan of this one. I found it somewhat disturbing and a little odd. Meaning, a little humor thrown in which I thought was out of place. And other things mentioned that I just thought was disjointed and strange. I just wasn't engrossed in this one like I usually am with Ted's books.

I read Saint first out of this set and am so glad I did. Since I got the ending of the story first that kept me going to get through this one. Showdown has some really strange parts but overall a really good read.

This was not my favorite Ted Dekker book, but it was still amazing. I didn't get into this book until about halfway into it, but once I did, everything began to fall into place. After this book, read Saint and then Sinner, and it really helps to see the big picture of the story.

This was my first book by Ted Dekker but it won't be my last. His writing is easy to read and the visuals are clear and captivating. I couldn't put the book down. This book was dark and sinister with children leading the way into and out of the darkness. I loved the way each scene was set up without being to laborous. Thanks for a really good read Ted.
