Thomas Nelson #3: First the Dead

Forensic entomologist Nick Polchak is quirky, analytical, and funny! When the Bug Man's team arrives in Hurricane Katrina-ravaged New Orleans, they discover that some bodies were dead before the storm made landfall! Who tried to get away with murder? Nick races against time, bureaucracy, and decomposing evidence to uncover the truth. 375 pages, softcover from Nelson.

I felt like I was right in the middle of the Katrina rescue and recovery efforts. This was the first book by this author I have read but it definately won't be the last. It was a long book and did not have a 'happily ever after' ending...but neither did the aftermath of Katrina.
