I have read all of Kelly Long's Amish fiction books. Threads of Grace grabbed me from page one and held me captive until the very last page. I read this book in one day and I can honestly tell you that I usually don't read a book that fast. I literally could NOT put this book down.
Seth, Grace, Abel captured my heart. I wanted things to work out for them so bad. Little Abel was a precious little boy that touched the very core of my being.
The author shows how God can take impossible situations and make them possible. Trust, Faith, Hope, Forgiveness can be seen through out the pages of this book. BUT, the most important lesson to be learned here is God's Grace. Without it we have nothing.
I hope that there will be another book in this series. In my heart the story isn't finished; there is so much to tell yet.
This book is definitely more than a 5 star book. I wish I could give it a 10! I hope if you are reading this review that you will pick up a copy of Threads of Grace. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you Kelly Long for taking my heart through so many emotions.

Grace Raber was a 18 year old girl with dreams for the future. But all that changed when grace was faced with the hard choose of saving her family's farm that was in debt to Silas Beiler. He would forget there debt and even help her family, but only if she married him. Then 9 years later, as a newly widowed Mother, she moved away to Pine Creek Pennsylvania. But she is followed by her former husband's evil Brother. Who will have a tight hold on her and her son if she is not married within 6 months of her husband's death, because of the will Silas left. But when Seth Wyse, a young man in Pine Creek who had been trying to get Grace's attention for months, hears about it he offers to marry her. She does need help but after her hard, sad, past could their life together ever work. I really loved this book! It must be one of the best Amish books I have ever read! It was very well written and even had a glossary of Pennsylvania Dutch words and phrases in the front of the book! You don't really know what happened in her past, instead you learn it along with the other people in the story. I think Kelly Long did a really good job with it. And with her Brother-in-law out there still trying to come up with a plan on how to get Grace, there are some twists and surprises mixed in! It was a wonderful book and I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this Amish story. Could feel myself cringe at that young girl, Grace Raber, being forced into a marriage with a cruel man, Silas Beiler.
When the book opens her living hell is over, her evil husband has died. She has begun a new life in Pine Creek PA. She does now have a young son, Able, who is Autistic. While she is working in the garden, a stone wall falls on her, she sends Able to the neighbors for help. So begins the relationship of Grace and Seth.
One thing we see throughout the story is how Grace has been badly hurt, and her learning to accept love. You do see God working in all of their lives, and all they need to do is accept his Grace!
Loved Alice...we meet her again. Although she is English, you want her to stay and be part of the family. Then their is Violet Raber, Grace's younger sister. She sees what she wants and not going to be stopped.
You do feel while reading that their is evil lurking, is someone going to be hurt? Don't miss this great read, once you start you will not be able to put it down.

Threads of Grace is the fourth Amish novel I have read by Kelly Long, and it is definitely my favorite of her books so far. The story of Grace -- and grace -- kept me engaged to the very end.
The developing love story between Grace and Seth certainly drives the plot of the book. But the theme of grace shown in so many ways, through so many people is definitely at the heart of the story. Abel's character also adds a special element as he and those who care about him deal with his day-to-day challenges related to his autism.
As is the case with most series, it was enjoyable to revisit characters from the first two Patch of Heaven novels. The book can be enjoyed, though, without having read the previous books.
Fans of Amish fiction should certainly enjoy this sweet, quick read, one that I was able to finish in a single evening.
Thanks to the Book Sneeze blogging program for providing this book in exchange for my honest review.

Threads of Grace by Kelly Long is the third book out of the Patch of Heaven series and it is very good. The book adds the troubling issues and guaranteed truth in faith that all Christ-believers go through. The simplicity of the novel makes the book easy to read. Grace, the main female character, has had a troubled past that would break anyone in her shoes. Seth is introduced further into the book as Graces story propels until the finally meet and have to endure through the constant fuss of her sons bouts of autism and His knack for something that could truly be the end of him, and his new found life with Grace.
I was truthfully not knowing what to think since I haven't fully gone through an Amish Romance fully. Kelly Long has done a delightful job with this book. I've come to understand that much isn't different between their society and urban society. The book was hard for me to put sown since the chapters went by so quickly but with every turn I had to tell myself 'there will always be tomorrow'. In all going in a full circle there was some unfinished business with The main female characters sister, violet, and aquaintance, Kate Zook, though it is pretty obvious if the pieces are put together. Kelly Long did wonderful in getting the beginning going and working into the middle, however I wished the ending would have been more descriptive and worked into a fuller ending. The message of this book was about Grace that God has shone and will keep showing. His eternal Grace woven in the midst of the Amish and Englisch Lives, which are woven in God's Lamb's Book Of Life.

After reading books one and two in the A Patch of Heaven series in just two days—I was really eager to pick up Threads of Grace. I had a feeling that this book would continue with Seth’s story and I was not disappointed. These books are absolutely fantastic and Kelly Long is quickly becoming a favorite for me as she’s very unique and paints a vivid romance with real emotion.
About the Story:
Seth has taken an interest in a young widow, Grace. Grace is the mother of a young autistic boy that Seth has also taken up with. Grace has a secret however and she’s determined never to marry again—that is until her brother in law shows up and begins to threaten her.
Seth offers to marry Grace and she accepts out of desperation. Though their marriage was rushed, Seth truly cares for Grace and he is determined to heal the wounds of Grace’s past. Only, he has no idea just how deep these wounds go nor of the horrors that this young woman has faced in her lifetime. Though this book was fiction there were times when my heart nearly broke for this young woman.
This book was so touching and heart wrenching. Unfortunately, domestic abuse exists in all religions and in all walks of life and this book certainly had a dark undertone of abuse and despair. There was also hope though—hope for women who have suffered from domestic violence and emotional abuse. I was so happy with this book and with the conclusion. There were no false pretenses of hope for an abusive partner and instead focused on other hopes and truths. I really hope that there will be more books in the A Patch of Heaven series!

Threads of Grace
A Patchwork of Heaven Novel Book 3
By Kelly Long
Seth Wyse can't get newly arrived widow Grace Beiler out of his thoughts. She and her autistic son Abel have found a place in his heart, if only he could convince Grace of it. But when Grace is injured Seth tries to convince her that they can at least be friends.
When Grace's brother-in-law shows up with her late husband's will in hand, Grace is in danger of losing everything, including Abel. Seth comes up with a solution to Grace's problem, but is Grace willing to risk a second marriage to save her son and herself from Tobias Beiler?
Grace can't believe that a younger man, let alone the most eligible bachelor in Pine Creek would want to marry her. Grace knows that Seth is making a mistake, but she is grateful for his offer. Can Seth's love heal a heart and a spirit that has been broken and crushed by a man who tried to destroy the young woman he married.
But Seth is keeping a secret. Will Seth's passion for painting be point of contention or a means of connection between Seth and Grace?
Will Grace ever be able to see that the threads that run through our lives make us who we are and that no matter what God's work is never complete in the pattern that is our life? If her sister Violet and her friend Alice have anything to say about it she will and she'll see that Seth is an important part of her quilt.
Threads of Grace is a story of healing and a story of grace. Sometimes life is filled with pain, but God is there offering us hope of a better tomorrow. I found the story to be enjoyable and an excellent week-end pastime I also was interested in the glimpses the author gave into Tobias Beiler's life and his motivation in why he behaved as he did.

Threads of Grace by Kelley Long
Thomas Nelson sent me a free copy of Threads of Grace by Kelley Long. This is the 3rd book in A Patch of Heaven Series. Young Amish girl Grace Beiler was married to Silas as a payment of debt owed by her parents. Trapped in an abusive marriage with this cruel older man, Grace blames herself and her beauty as the cause of her problems. When Silas dies, Grace takes her young son Abel and flees to Pennsylvania to start over. Seth Wyse is a charmer with the women, and likes what he sees when meeting Grace, but pursuing her gets him nowhere. Then Silas's brother appears in town and commands Grace to marry him in accordance with the will set up by Silas. When Seth offers to marry Grace as a way to escape another cruel man, Grace finds herself accepting. Grace knows Seth is different than any man she has ever known, but can she trust him? Can Seth be patient in showing Grace what a true marriage with God as the center can be? I had read the first book in this series and liked it. I found this book to be good as well. It was quick moving, although choppy at times. Some of the actions by the Amish in the book seemed unlikely to really happen, but it still made for an interesting story, with a little bit of suspense. I would like to read book 2 in the near future. If you enjoy Amish fiction, this is a good quick read!

I liked this book. I really like reading books about the Amish and their way of life. This book was about this girl Grace who 7 years ago got married to this one man to help her family pay of debts and then her first husband died in an accident and she had six months to find another man or to lose all the help from the first husbands family. Well she ends up falling in love with this great guy named Seth and they end up getting married and living a great life and Seth ends up adopting Grace's child as well as his own so they are all a big happy family. I read this book in 3 hours and couldn't put it down.

The widowed Grace Beiler came to Pine Hollow seeking a refuge for herself and her autistic son. Marriage was nowhere in her plans until circumstances force her to choose between marrying a younger man and losing her son. Can she be a wife to this passionate younger man and will the secret he harbors force them from the safety of their Amish community? Can Seth Wyse actually win the heart of his new bride, despite the darkness from her past? “Threads of Grace” delivers a nice dose of suspense along with an Amish-flavored romance and blends it into a delightful read.
I enjoy the Amish novels but often find them to be a little devoid of characters (everyone is a bit too saintly to be real.) Kelly Long, however, has flavored her Amish characters with a nice assortment of human foibles including jealously and spitefulness as well as some much darker flaws. It’s refreshing to have an Amish bad guy character for a change and to have an Amish female character who is a classic “mean girl.” “Threads of Grace” is a refreshing change from the cloyingly sweet Amish-based novels that I’ve read in the past. I can’t wait to see what else Kelly Long has written!

Threads of Grace, by Kelly Long, is the third book in the A Patch of Heaven series. Even though I had not read the first two books, this story was easy to read as a stand-alone novel. Long also incorporates some of the characters from the previous stories into this one, making it enjoyable as a series for those that have read books one and two.
In this book, Grace Beiler, having recently been widowed from an abusive marriage, has escaped to a new town in an effort to protect her autistic son, Abel, from his evil uncle. Her new neighbor, Seth Wyse, offers to marry her to help protect them. Seth knows nothing of Grace’s past, and she knows nothing of his love of art and painting. So their journey together proves to be more difficult than either of them expected. Even so, they find that God’s love and His plan are easier to trust than they realized.
I enjoyed reading this book. Having raised an autistic son myself, this story hit home in many ways. The difficulties that arose were realistic issues that families with autistic children often encounter. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has an autistic child or to anyone who enjoys Amish fiction.

Captivating

Threads of Grace is by Kelly Long and is the third in "A Patch of Heaven Novel". I really enjoyed this book. I love how Kelly Long does different types of Amish characters! It makes for a much more enjoyable read since it's not the same ole same ole. :-)
The widow Grace Beiler moved to Whisper Hollow, Pennsylvania 6 months ago with her 8 year old autistic son, Abel. For those six months, Seth Wyse has tried to get her to notice him but with no success. He can't get the beautiful widow out of his mind!
Grace has no intention of marrying again especially to a man younger than her. But that all changes when Grace's brother-in-law finds her. She marries Seth to protect her son. Once married Seth begins to find out the truth about Grace's first marriage. As she begins to let go of her past, will she be able to open her heart up to their future? Will she find love at last?
I definitely recommend this book. The first chapter sucked me in like no other book has. It's one of those books that you want to read in one sitting.
I was given this book free as long as I review it.
