I loved these books and couldn't put them down. They grabbed my attention from page one and after that it was hard to find a place to stop when I needed to. The characters are well written and remain so throughout. There appears to be NO historical blunders as I've seen in other books recently by other authors. The author takes her time to truly learn about the time period and that makes it an enjoyable read. The mystery and suspense of it adds another special element! I love to read historical romance novels written with Christian Faith as part of it (but not knocking you over the head with it)-the mystery and suspense just makes it even better!

Awesome books. Both had me locked on for hours until they were finished. I can't wait to read the next Mercy Falls novel from Colleen Coble. The fact that they are a Christian background makes it even better for me. Nice to read something romantic without having to deal with all the dirt that goes with most romantic novels. :)

Easy reading but very insightful as to character traits that are missing in our everyday lives. Addie was an excellent example of loyalty against all odds. Katie was full of adventure but still wanted to do the right thing. I really enjoyed both of these books and could hardly put them down until finished.

Two books in one is a bit bulky to hold, but enjoyed them both and the thread of familiarity from the first to the second. Looking forward to reading the third in the series. Enjoy Collen Coble's storytelling and writing!
