P & R Publishing Godliness Through Discipline

Here is a practical booklet for anyone who wants to become a more godly person. In it Jay Adams shows clearly that, while there is no such thing as instant godliness, genuine and lasting holiness is indeed possible.

Jay Adams is able to cut through all the fluff and hit you right between the eyes. In this simple, short work, you will be challenged to live a disciplined life. This is not all theory, but it is all truth! I have given away copies of this booklet to encourage those who need a little "kick in the pants."

This is an excellent book to consider in your spiritual walk. I've seen a website that considers Adams in this book promoting a works-based faith. But careful reading will show this not to be true since he emphasizes living at the cross, dying to sin, and relying on Christ to change us through a walk of dependence. It's a great challenge to lead me toward taking little steps of faith in obedience to what he's taught me in the word.

This book is such an encouragement and gives sound guidance and direction to those of us who are desperately trying to leave behind old habits and replace them with new ones which are more godly. I would like to give one of these easy to read booklets to every one of my friends in Christ who struggle to overcome "the old man" and old habits. There is hope in Christ and in practicing godliness. Get this booklet!
