Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. Day By Day Kids Bible

Popular children's author Karyn Henley, who wrote The Beginners Bible, has created a unique tool to help children establish Bible reading habits for a lifetime--with an investment of just seven minutes per day. In this revised version of God's Story, daily Bible readings lead children through the Scriptures in chronological order in just one year. The Day-by-Day Kids Bible bridges the gap between a Bible storybook and a full-text Bible since the scriptures are simplified for young readers ages 6 to 10.

Features
  • Dated Bible readings for every day of the year
  • Two-color interior illustrations and full color pictorial time line of events
  • Presentation page
  • 9.00" x 6.50" x 1.50"

5 stars go to Karyn Henley on this one. It's one of a kind, the book-point where the Bible meets the kiddie storybook. I use this to read with my NLT coz sometimes though I understand the words of the Bible it's refreshing to see it from another angle, like as to how a child might grasp the message. Reading this sheds some light that I can't get from a commentary. And there are nights when I'm tired and can't focus on serious reading, then this book gets really handy, it's easier also on the eyes because of the presentation and its simplicity. It's not adult book but childlike, and certainly not childish.

I bought this for my grandson. I felt this story book put too much emphasis on humans being evil , valueless and sinful. That is true, of course, but I would rather begin my child's experience with God using Gods' majesty of creation, love for people, rules for a good life, imitation of Christ in our daily walk. When he gets down on his knees and says about himself, "I am worthless before you Oh God", it will be because God has convicted him of that truth in love with an understanding of Jesus' sacrifice and forgiveness , not because as a little boy he was taught that he is evil.

I bought 6 copies, one for each of my young granddaughters and one for myself. Two of the girls are over the recommended age of 10, but after having read the selections, I think they will enjoy them as much as I have. I wanted to encourage them to establish a daily habit of reading the Bible and I think this is the "Bible" to get that habit started. The time line is great too. The scripture reference is there on each page if they want to "read more about it" in their regular Bible.

My 8 year old son said recently that this was one of his favorite Christmas gifts. We've challenged him to read one section a day, but he has been reading 2-3 sections a day! It is very exciting!

Great Nible for little ones to listen to. It is short enough for them to understand if reading it one story at a time.

My 10 year old LOVES this book. I struggle with her, that church is not a punishment, and she was not happy when I told her I was buying her a day by day Bible. She actually likes reading it, the language is her own, so she will ask if I am ready for her to read it to me!!

I'm really excited about this Bible. It is the first one I have found that is really designed for the beginning reader. Karyn Henley has done an amazing job. If you want to see or hear your kid read the Bible, get this one. It would make a nice gift for any family with young children or any Sunday school child.

My children and I are really enjoying this book. It contains just the right amount to read every evening; not too much and not to little. Very kid friendly language. I really like the fact that it goes chronologically, i.e. all the books of the bible are interspersed throughout so that it makes since to children. I highly recommend it.

This is an excellent way to include the whole family in reading the Bible through in a year. It is very easy to understand for the children, and even for adults who have a hard time understanding the difficult language of some translations of the Bible. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a way to make reading the Bible family time!
