Overall basic but good. Good for beginner thru intermediate guitar player. Can be used for basic strumming or more fingerpicking. Nice group of titles.

This is 'easy' in the sense that it is not intermediate or advanced. However, for the very beginner (i.e. Hal Leonard Guitar Method Vol 1), there are only a handful of songs that are truly easy (i.e. use 2-3 basic open chords). This is still a good book to own - and all new players should aspire to play the songs in this book. However, anyone new to guitar might want to consider "Favorite Hymns for Easy Guitar" (Hal Leonard) as their first book. Classic hymns generally use basic chord sequences which will be easier for most new guitar players.

The book is very nicely done for inexperienced/new guitarists. It has a wide variety of well-known songs with notes and tabs on every page. It makes it simple and easy to practice.
