The series of books written by R.M. Ballantyne in the mid-late 1800s are in the public domain. These are expensive reprints! Buy softcover at a fraction of the price or, if you have an iPad or the like, download them for free. (Not all titles in the series are available at the present time.)

A good book for our 11-year-old, but some parts were challenging for him. He loved the story. We'll definitely purchase more of Ballantyne's books.

Our 11-year old son loves this book. It is the first of the Ballantyne Series for him, but not the last.

Coral Island is a wonderful book which I cannot wait for my son to read. I generally preview a few books in a series before I let my son read them. Christian character, bravery and courage shine through in this book. Ballantyne, did not shy away from God in his books, on the contrary, it is front and center in many. As an adult, I plan on reading them all at this point, as we will be looking to purchase additional books in the Ballantyne Series.
