Customer Reviews for Hendrickson Publishers Novum Testamentum Graece (NA27), Wide-Margin Edition

Hendrickson Publishers Novum Testamentum Graece (NA27), Wide-Margin Edition

The leading edition of the original text of the New Testament, this scholarly edition is designed for extensive research, textual criticism, and other academic studies.

In keeping with the goals of serious and advanced New Testament scholars, the revised critical apparatus shows a nearly exhaustive list of variants but includes only the most significant witnesses for each variant. The Greek text has paragraph and section breaks. Cross-references in the margins are extensive and include synoptic parallels. Five appendices offer in-depth information for further understanding of passages.

The introduction appears in both English and German. Text, notes, and critical apparatus appear in a clear font throughout the volume.

Larger in size but priced lower than the large print edition, this user-friendly edition gives professors and students the opportunity to make notes in their Bible as they translate the New Testament.

I was thrilled to find a hardback copy. I'm taking a Greek class at my church, and I had borrowed my sister's small leatherbound copy from college. This one is sturdier than the leather one and has plenty of margin on the sides and bottom for notes.

I bought the NA27 wide margin as I wanted to go deeper into the text, and at the time this was the cheapest copy of the NA27 available. I have not regretted my decision at all. The critical work is in depth and it has added much to my study. With that said if you wish to use this copy in order to write notes in the margins, be careful on the pen you use, as the pages are so thin that most pens will write through them.

This is an excellent book. It has all the information one could wish whether you are a scholar or just an amateur student of the New Testament like me.
The introduction is extensive and the footnotes are as useful as you want them to be. The added feature of the wide margins caps off a wonderful document which I will treasure for a long time to come.

This is the same NA-27 that we all know and love; however, it comes with very large margins.
I have taken so pictures to help you see the margin size and font.

I purchased this edition for the wide margins and I'm not disappointed. There is plenty of room on both edges for x-refs. The additional space underneath the text critical info is great for more detailed analysis and referencing.
The one thing I'm not thrilled with is the bleedthrough from the other side of the page. The thinner pages is nice, but I would prefer slightly thicker or a different type of paper so the words from the previous or following page would not show through.

This is the same as the smaller Nestle-Aland Greek NT, but with oodles of space in the margins and bottom of page for notes. However, beware if you of a certain age as the text is a slightly smaller font size. It does have Bible cross references too. And cheap!

This Greek NT was a Christmas present for my college daughter and she was thrilled. She hadn't thought about the wide margin and I stumbled upon this on the CBD website. The 27 is the go to edition for serious study and the room for notes was a big plus.

I am a Sophmore Theology student at Bethany Bible College, Sussex, NB, Can. and as a part of my studies I am required to learn Greek. The font used in this particular version is excellent and very legible. I love this version by Nestle- Alland, as the footnotes are excellently done. The margins allow for ease of translation and writing the required notations. All in all AWESOME!

Although it's a little too big to carry around with you everywhere, this is a great tool for doing NT exegesis at the home or office. The text is the same size as the standard NA27, but the margins are REALLY large. There's more room to write in the margins than in the average "wide margin" Bible!
The text is very clean and easy to read and the paper is good quality. The book lies flat open without any problems and overall is well bound.
Although this is the standard Greek text today, I would encourage fellow exegetors to be true Bereans and not only use the formidable apparatus at the bottom of the page, but don't take everything Aland decides to give you as the whole story. Read the introduction carefully and note any assumptions that are made. Rather than just blindly believing whatever the latest textual critic tells us, we need to make our own evaluations of their theories and methods for producing the text and evaluate the manuscripts on a verse-by-verse basis. I highly recommend using this in tandem with Maurice Robinson's "The New Testament in the Original Greek, Byzantine Textform (2005 edition)."

I own a variety of Greek Bibles, including e-book format, and this is one of my favorites. This Bible is about the same size as the NA27 large print, however the font size is smaller, allowing plenty of room to write annotations. I would recommend it to anyone who is constantly looking into the Greek text for personal or professional study.

This was the same Nestle-Aland 27 that I used in seminary. The text and notes are identical. The only difference is that the pages have wider margins that give room for personal notes.
I would recommend this for seminary students or anyone who seriously uses the Greek text so that you can preserve your personal insights as you read/translate.

This is an excellent resource for any serious student of the Greek New Testament. It is the critical standard NA27 text, with extremely generous margins for making whichever notes or additional references you might wish. It has replaced my regular-margin NA27 as my primary GNT for study and research purposes. At a price cheaper than ordering the regular format NA27, you really can't go wrong with this edition.
